^ Good ol' Ludwig van. Quite welcome after all the pop I was listening to lately. (12.8 million views in a little over 2 years? Not too shabby for such "oldfashioned" music.) I find classical cleans out stuffed hearing pretty well, assuming I don't resort to plain silence in the first place. Silence is so underrated.

Anyway, here's the song that displaced Marina and the Diamonds' I am not a robot as my most-scrobbled piece ever lately (oops), from the "language barriers be damned" department:

The song is called Tra due minuti è primavera. It is, quite obviously, 100% pure pop. But it's good. Actually the whole album (Mentre tutto cambia) is. Not sure about the dance choreography in this performance (ballet? srsly?), but I'm not an expert in those.

Morricone, eh? Add one of Italy's greatest voices, and it should be no surprise that this was a big hit at the time (mid-'60s).

Unlike "down under", much of Germany saw some nice snow chaos today. Not here yet, fortunately (we had +9°C and sun today), but it'll probably arrive tomorrow. That's a fairly long winter this year.

While I'm stuck in the '60s (at least for the sake of this post), here's another nice track from 1966:

The Luv'd Ones were an all-girl garage / psychedelic rock band in the mid/late '60s. Guitarist and bandleader Char Vinnedge has been described as "Jimi Hendrix' long-lost sister". They always remained quite obscure. Guess they did the right thing at the wrong time - chances for an outfit like this would have been much better a decade or two later. It's not too unlikely that Debbie Harry had heard their output though...

I used to love Linkin Park when I was a kid. Meteora was my first album - I got it the week it came out. I must've been 6 or something. I grew out of them, but I continued to love this song.

I just discovered Youn sun nah a couple days ago. She has an amazing voice and some pretty cool stuff. I think norah jones is probably one of my all time favorite artists

I love it, and I haven't been able to find anything as good as this, even in the same genre. The only member of Alrakis is in another band called Finster, and they play atmospheric BM as well, but it's not as slow paced and melancholic as his solo work. Listening to Alpha Eri literally makes me feel like I'm floating through space.

friend's new band XHOSTAGEX (not straight edge in the least hahaha)... they rip harder than any band i've seen in the last 6mo and this was their first show. 10 minutes of grind chaos

I like. Vocals sound a lot like Pig Destroyer circa Prowler In The Yard.
