Supposedly around 10 hours but I have yet to test it myself.
A samsung quick charger, now I don't have to be afraid if I forgot to charge my phone at night

I really wanted to pick up a pair of Bluetooth headphones when I was shopping for a pair in the Spring. I found it difficult to find a really nice pair that allowed for either Bluetooth or a cord depending on what I was doing. Sennheiser has a pair, but they're around $500 last time I checked. What kind do you have? How is the sound?

I think it does go outside, like with full stops. But yeahhh, we use 240V in the UK, but I guess I could get a converter. That one you linked doesn't ship to the UK from there anyway, which is part of the trouble I've been having.

Honestly, a good looking analog watch with chronograph. I can still time workouts on it while watching others run. I can wear it to a nice dinner or business meeting. And it's always there so I can check the time, as being punctual is important to me.
Current wearing a Casio EF503D-1AV. Nothing super fancy, but it gets the job done and looks good doing it. It also plays homage to my favorite watch of all time. I wear it on a leather one-piece strap though.
For a long time, my Garmin Forerunner 610 was my useful tech. It kept the team running honest for pace and mileage. We could also make up new running routes and know how far we ran instead of just guesstimating. The 610 doesn't look as good in the office or at a meeting though....

I didn't know that I needed a Pebble smartwatch until I was gifted with one last week :)
It's limited in its usefullness but It's a nifty little gadget and a conversation starter. Now I can keep my iphone in my pocket while driving and control Pandora music stream via my watch! Who woulda thought?
Not in order of usefulness:
- Soldering station (tinkering and repairing things)
- Multimeter (can even test my batteries lol)
- Powerbank with 2x USB port (damn that thing is useful)
- Arduinos, lots of them (you can do, repair, adapt so many things with them)
- NAS (Data storage, management and sharing made easy)
I have a Synology DS211J. This is a 2 disks unit and it does work very well. I'd like to move to a 4x 2.5" Synology or QNAP, or even more disk if I can afford it.

Just last night I made Chicken Breast wrapped with bacon and stuffed with cream cheese. Took less then 20 mins and I made like 0 mess.
It was so freaking juicy and crispy and.....GOOD!
Best purchase of 2015 hands down!

All of our important data is either cloud-based or based on a local server, so the speed increase significantly outweighs the possible risk of local data loss, at least my case.
Recently would be Polk Hampdens. Still love my Sennheiser HD-25s, being probably the best value-to-use of any audio product I've bought, but it's a great change having some compact, quality speakers.Can't wait to hear the review. :cool: Several of us are audiophiles here too, among other obsessions, lol.

True, but that also means that they are built, to a certain extent, more robustly. Even though the data integrity may be slightly more, because of all that turnover, they have to be made better. Keep in mind that enterprise usage is way different than end user usage. Most SSDs in the enterprise are DB volumes, which sees a lot more data turnover than an end user. A LOT more. I mean, a lot a lot A LOT more. In the enterprise, this is OK, because the speed offsets the 'risk' since regular backups of the DBs are being done, yadda yadda.
The SSDs I use are all for OS/Apps. My data all goes either to a RAID 6 array on my server, or the cloud, depending on what it is. Data is data, no need to put it on super fast expensive storage. Unless you're doing heavy 4k video editing, then SSDs might be a requirement...
There are too many to consider when I think about "Most useful ever".
But, "recently", one neat little device that I think can offer amazing value for money is the Google Chromecast. If you look at all it offers for the 30-something bucks it cost when coupled with the right software, it is really quite amazing and one of my best recent purchases.

So true about pesto. When I worked in the restaurant industry, we had a killer pesto recipe that was made in the Robot Coupe that I tried to replicate at home to no avail.

A mouse with more than 5k dpi. The Sentey Rev's dpi thumb button is impossible and the ceramic feet hate all surfaces equally but at least the dpi can go above 5k.
I've dabbled in skateboarding for like twenty years. I can handle small accurate motions, but if I have to move my wrists sideways with less than 1600 dpi it's GG for me. Maybe nerve damage I have no idea. I can control 6k dpi on a 20in monitor without a problem. I'll play mmorpgs @ 6000 dpi and FPS games @ 1600 - 3200 dpi. I also use 1600 dpi for small detail stuff like 3D modeling, etc.A mouse with more than 5k dpi. I can't imagine a mouse past 1200 dpi. How do you control it? I usually play games at roughly 15 in / 360... 10-12 in /360 when I want to mess around.

All mousepads that are stitched looks like that..
They also make non-stitched pads but the edges will fray up eventually, but you could just cut the stitching off if you don't like it..

Purchasing a car with a Bluetooth audio package. When I was first looking at my current DD Bluetooth audio wasn't a make or break it for me. I saw it as nothing more than a nice little bonus, not really something that was really part of my calculus on whether or not I should choose one vehicle over another. It has been amazing and I can't imagine driving a car without it. Hands-free audio for phone calls and no AUX cables for my podcasts or music. Truly, a wonderful piece of tech. Super convenient and also makes me a safer driver!

Thanks for linking this tp, it's like the perfect dimensions for my desk at home.
I finally brought home the C-Tech Anthea XL mousepad. It's very good for the price (I paid €7 locally), and I love that it's only 27cm deep, which might be insufficient, if you use very low sensitivity, but I don't, and my tray is only 30cm deep anyway. The red C logo on the right can be annoying, but I've covered it by a trackball, so no issue there.

Yeah, I can see that. Because I also cook a lot, I'm oftentimes holding large pans in my right hand, moving them around. So I don't really feel the weight of a "tiny mouse" (in comparison) anymore.

The corsair KATAR i just reviewed was perfect weight however the rest of it was very average/below average so even though it's comfy i don't use it.

I see your point. Looks like the mionix castor would also be a contender.. Looks largely similar in terms of shape.
Basically if you are a fingertip grip user not many new mice have come out with that grip specifically in mind for quite some time and the ones that have are fairly MEH...SO when a new one comes around claiming Zero accel and gaming focused and this and that all those people that use that grip get excited since the market mostly focuses on Claw and Palm grip users.

But smartphones have allowed me to keep in contact on an hourly basis with people I otherwise wouldn't be able to on an even semi-regularly basis (geekhackers), so for that I am very thankful.

I find myself ignoring phone calls and texts that aren't from my primary contacts. Just because I'm sick of being tethered. I tell my clients to e-mail me... it's faster. What do they do? Call me. In the middle of the night. While I'm driving. While I'm... well you get the picture. They are literally more trouble than they're worth, because they're generally the low rent pay for my hobbies clients.
If going with "lately" than I have to say - the Roost stand. It's a wonderful and portable laptop stand so can work anywhere and don't need to hump over my screen anymore. Been saving me a lot of back & neck pain since I got it. A bit on the expensive side but worth every penny! :)

At work, sometimes I stop for a minute while I'm eating at the cafeteria and look around to see everybody staring into their phone. Completely agree, the dependence on them is more than a little ridiculous. To play devil's advocate to the cafeteria point (and any other time-killing smart phone use), people used to just read the newspaper or magazines while they were waiting in those situations. We've just shifted to a different medium of ignoring the people around us. :P

Someone gave me a generation or two old Kindle and I'm getting a surprisingly amount of use from it. Basically it's my room remote. Have it set up to control the lights and fan, Roku (Plex server, spotify, Netflix, Hulu), and of course great for reading and very light gaming and browsing (screen isn't great...).We got to borrow an iPad from work and it's been used a lot lately by the wifey. They're one of those things where you might not feel like you need it, but if you get one you can have a surprising amount of fun with it.

Seems like my AKG K240 Studio (new) headphones just wont break regardless of how many times I roll over the cord with the computer chair. Not the best range but not bad for 2+ years of use.So you want them to break so you can get new ones??

I have used "Flexon" by Marchon frames for my glasses for at least 25 years and they are incredible. My current frames are 10-15 years old and still great. I have replaced a few pads and screws, but otherwise they have lasted through multiple sets of new lenses.My kids need these :eek:
I literally just bought an old Dell Ultrasharp U3011 30" monitor from a friend today. It's gorgeous! I can't wait to plug it into my gaming rig and give it a real workout!

U need a calibration pr0be. by now, a u3011 would've drifted really far because it's CCFL backlit.
CCFL is also very hot, which is also why it drifts so much over time as the tubes wear along with baking the crystals.. often times causing slight color cast.

I probably should get a pr0be but I'm pleased with how it looks. I ran through a series of calibration images here: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and poked through the monitor's menus. I noticed that it has a more vibrant and slightly greener cast than either of my LG LED LCD monitors. It's also insanely bright.
Now that I've tasted 2560x1600 I never wanna go back to "HD" again. I almost get depressed when I go into the office and have to use 1920x1080 resolution :cool:

The Green cast is due to the Baking..
The test image can help with contrast and brightness, and sort of get gamma in control..
However, you really need a probe on these old HOT monitors..
