  • Order case prototype.
  • Order PCB prototype.
  • Test fully built prototype.
  • Proceed to group buy.

Latest Update:

[09/10/2020] Ordered Prototype a couple weeks ago. Estimated to arrive mid October so hopefully i'll be able to make an assembly video and sound test soon.
[12/10/2020] After receiving some feedback, I decided to remove the red colour option and add a colour called "Maroon Wine".

[20/11/2020] Received my first prototype and made some minor changes to the keyboard design. I made the weight design slightly sharper and replaced the kck logo with "ESNTL". Will let you guys know when I have another design update. 2nd Prototype will be ordered very soon.

[24/11/2020] Ordered a 2nd prototype today. Made some small changes to the case design to make it easier to assemble.

[24/02/2021] Took a break from this project as I needed more time to focus on my other GB & house construction work. But I'm back now and i'm ready to move onto the groupbuy stage. Anyway here are some pictures of the 2nd prototype. I made very minor design changes to the keyboard but I think it refined the overall look.

[26/02/2021] The vendor i'll be working with will be Mechboards UK (Mechboards.co.uk). They handled the payment side of things for my previous groupbuy and they will be doing the same for this groupbuy. Unfortunately I will not be working with international vendors for this groupbuy. GB date hasn't been set yet but i'll keep you guys updated here on this thread whenever I can.

Very interesting board, been following you since KY-01!! But imho side design on the top piece is a little too curvy for my taste, would like something more angular

So since the weight is optional cost, does that mean opting out of getting one would mean a gaping hole on the bottom case? Are the gasket mounts optional as well? I would think anything that is necessary to make the keyboard function as intended would be included in some sort of base price.

Sorry for the confusion. It is required to purchase a weight and a set of gaskets. But you can buy extra sets of gaskets or weights if you like. Same goes to the top case, bottom case, plates, etc.

This board looks really good and the price is very attractive.
The PCB is a bit confusing it seems to have Alps support (at least I think so) despite you saying its mx only.

I'm assuming this is not the final version of the pcb?
Nevertheless can't wait for updates and look forward to see what comes out of this.

Yes the PCB supports both mx & alps switches because that's the standard footprint my PCB designer used. But my current plate design doesn't support alps switches. If alps compatibility is what everyone wants then I can always design an alps plate as well.

The design is nice and at this price it's definitely an interesting kit. I just wished it wasn't a WKL. This layout now seems to be the norm for TKL. Am I the only one who needs the windows/super key?

Wow this is extremely nice. Love modest use of curves in the side profile and back. And for all the options offered, this is an extremely attractive price point as well. Any possibilities of Tsangan right shift though? That would seal the deal for me if that were added.

I considered adding underglow but it would make the per key rgb dimmer which isn't something i'd want. However if it is something a lot of people would like, I may run a separate gb for an underglow pcb.

Yeah, personally, I'd actually rather have underglow of per key lighting since I almost never use per key lighting. It'd be interesting what other's thoughts are on this though

That's good to know, having underglow as an xtra available option would be a great idea. Will there also be an option for hotswap pcb?

Love it, and an underglow makes a lot of sense with the polycarb cases. I dig the per key light too because everyone knows rgb means more FPS.

I'm very new to this and have no effing clue about. But how come two polycarbonate pieces come so expensive? I can undertund it from aluminum or brass (I guess that these are milled rather than casted). Are the ploycarb case milled from a thicker block?
