Added a logo sticker to my 456GT. It's no engraving, but it's better than nothing  :)

I always thought that was engraved, that is my dream TKL!

Unfortunately not :(. That's one of the more disappointing parts about the 456 for me, but it's an awesome board anyway.

Fantastic looking 456GT.  I think the black looks sooo nice.

That keyset is so nice.  Looks like GMK, no?  Where/when did you get that?

Thanks! It's Originative's GMK Cyrillic set. Thankfully I got it off the classifieds so I didn't have to suffer through actually purchasing from Originative.

Beautiful board, the GMK cyrillic set looks so nice on it! Obviously a lot of people have had really bad experiences with originative, but I have ordered so many things from them and always got my orders really fast with no problems at all.

Thanks :). Yeah, it's really a shame that Originative is so inconsistent. I've ordered things from them and had no troubles in the past, but now I'm waiting on my GMK Dolch and CMYW from them that was supposed to ship months ago.

Today, I rebuilt my Duck Viper.  I replaced the 65g Sprit springs with 50g golds and changed the caps lock to be stepped as well as removed the Fn key next to the right shift in favor of being compatible with more keysets.

Took roughly 8 hours, but I'm very pleased with the result.

Thanks, Bill!  As for SIP sockets, I did some experimenting with those and wasn't very happy.  I tried the short ones and they didn't reach through a plate mount PCB I had.
So, then I bought the longer ones and the metal stem was thicker and they didn't slide as far into the switch as the short ones, so the tops I had were bending up where
you would insert the LED.  In the end I just went with white LEDs, which suit my purposes and are very neutral. :)

I thought about PCB mount as well, but I didn't want that plate to go to waste, Bill. :thumb

thanks! i love them surface mounted screws more than flush screws.
but to be honest, the original design of the case is for flush mount screws. the top layer of this acrylic comes with the packaging, probably it's rejected piece because of the cutting error.
you'll noticed the top right corner of the case is using flush mount screw.

and sorry, i didn't make a build log when i'm building this :(
but i do have other pictures.

Is that a sticker or paint to make it gold? It fits the board so well.

Could you go into a little more depth on how you did that? I'm not sure that I want to make any irreversible changes to my 360 but I've been wanting to do something like that to my kingsaver for a while.

Mask everything you don't want painted. Grab a very small/fine brush and fill in what you would like while getting as even of a coating as possible. Let dry for a few hours, then apply a clear coat for longevity.

Thats not exactly how I did it. I masked off the board except for a rectangle around the entire 360c logo then spray painted the area. Afterwards I used nail polish remover to remove the excess from the parts I didnt want painted. I havent put a clear coat on it yet because I want to be able to remove it with more nail polish remover if I dont think its perfect.

A more common method in Korea is to use acrylic paint. Fill the engraving, and peel off the excess.

yeah I didnt have any acrylic paint, but the gold spray paint still looks pretty good. Do you know where I could buy some of that paint though?
Should be fairly easy to find. It's nothing special, just regular acrylic paint..

Ohh I see, good to know.

Yeah, can typically be found at any arts and crafts store.

I think that the spray paint has a more consistent finish though than if I applied it with a brush. Maybe Comradesniper wants to try it out with acrylic paint though so that we can compare?

Regular blacks, vintage blacks, or modded blacks? Anyways that keyboard looks great with the keyset, very clean and nice looking.

It looks like Miz Kite was made for that board!
