Just waiting for the gb approval :)

Just wondering
does the recent disappearance of Korean GB starter have an impact on this?
the approval seems to take longer

What do you mean by this?
Just assuming since the past druger problem and recent tx1800, feel like some part of the community lose trust on new korean gb (unless it run by someone reputable like Elton, etc) . And might change the mod concern when accepting future korean gb

Now that it is on the run, I might be wrong.

I lm saying this because I'm also the victim, where my money has been taken and nothing being send over :(, not the right place to discuss here

Finally able to post my own board in this thread! I've been eyeing a nice custom Korean keyboard ever since I got into keyboards and finally built one over the course of last week:

It is really beautiful, congratulations. You can tease the bros with details on switches, lubing, stickers, springs and stems, just to help our jealousy to grow. :thumb:

They can be the pcb have holes for PCB mounted switches. At least for the B.face
When people say the switches are 'PCB mounted' they typically mean that there is no plate involved: The switches are soldered to the PCB and the PCB itself is mounted to the casing.

The Winkeyless cases don't allow for the PCB to mount directly to them - they rely on the plate for this. So, while you can use the PCB mount switches with the extra plastic pins, it's still a plate mounted board.

It still could be possible to get a custom cut half plate.
Though, that might look funny with the floating cap design.

My nice wikeyless face.B 60%  Old MX Black, purple JD plate and HyperFuse :)

I still have to swap the spring with some lighter 60g and solder the resistors and LED's. I have some nice pink LED's ready for this board. Also a nice case would be good, but will have to wait for the moment.

This will be the last keyboard I build with a plate, hate plates, if a stab wire jumps you have to pray to all the gods to fix it :(

Since you're using the plate by JD, wouldn't there be enough room to fix the stabs without desoldering?
I just roughly compared the one to my GON and it seems like it is plausible.

There is enough space to fix it without desoldering. But it's still a pain to do it :))
Other than that the feel and look of the board os very nice, maybe a bit too stiff for my taste, I like the PCB mount feel more.
I have swapped the springs and I will see today how it drives.

This is  a V60 with Gateron Browns and Leopold keycaps.  I love the board and keycaps, but dislike the switches.  I much prefer Cherry browns over these.  The Gaterons are considerably lighter.

KPB V60 Gateron Browns and Leopold Keycaps.  Poker 3 with Gateron Browns and Poker keycaps.  Poker 3 with Cherry MX Browns, ABS keycaps and white LED's.

Leopold FC660M- my new favorite, right out of the box.

Vintage browns - Cherry MX5000, almost certainly G80-1838 too although I haven't confirmed it myself
Vintage clears - Too many to list. Anything with clears made in the early 90s I guess.

The darker RGB set goes well with it:)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It's an LED, I believe there is two actually, red and blue LED on the switch. The PCBs wasn't compatible with in-switch LEDs.

Will have to get a shot with keycaps when I'm not so tired  :blank:

It's an LED, I believe there is two actually, red and blue LED on the switch. The PCBs wasn't compatible with in-switch LEDs.

what is that yellow/orange thing on the esc key?

IIRC it's copper around the switch itself, it's used to power the LED on the ESC key. When I got the board the copper was cut, I think the LED just pulsates so I haven't bothered to fix it back up.

Edit: Messed up damn quoting. :(
yeah I know the pcb doesn't compatible with led. didn't expect someone would do a mod on the switch but not the pcb though  ^-^

It is quite an odd way to do but it worked haha, but as Jerue said the copper connection is now cut.

I was the one who removed the wiring.

The prior owner had the two leds installed on the switch.  They both light up simultaneously, but I didn't like how they looked with most sets, so I disabled them.  It is just copper tape in two sections, and two smd leds soldered onto the tape in series.  It's pretty cool how it was done, just not something I had liked.

This one is pretty Korean, though the switches are Japanese.

Now all I'm waiting for is my red Hammer case. Aww ye. Typing on it feels so smooooth. It's crazy. Switches and LEDs are hotswappable. This has been a very long project.

Shame, those pulsing Esc's are awesome. I need to take a video of mine, translucent cap on top and I don't think there's anything that looks better.

I need a green or yellow alps board, looks great man.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done
