I would have expected there was a public sheet that shows everyone who has joined this gb that ended 15th June. Most GB runners have the list quite quick for invoicing and confirmation.
I am one of the first 20 and I must say I received an email to confirm my order etc. So maybe it’s sent only to those who have joined. I did send an email to him a couple of days ago.

Between how about the rest of the buyers who joined outside the first 20. Have you guys been invoices etc?

Let’s give him some time to revert.

yea i got my order detail confirmation directly from kkingkkongworks@gmail.com on June 24. FWIW, my order number was 93. In the email he did say he got "a large number of orders" and that this confirmation email was sent to everyone who ordered. I am not part of the first 20 (the highest order number on the first 20 list was 86 or something + I got cerakote top and bottom).

Guess we need to be patient then. And there might not be a Google form to capture each and everyone’s orders since that’s achieved directly via email.

I recently received an email from Chanmin. Didn't realize he responded to me because my email has been acting really weird and I just found his response today as I went looking through my emails so I could chime in with my two cents on the state of this group buy we are in. (I'm order number 107)

I sent an email to Chanmin on June 24th and got a reply on June 29th. He apologized for his late reply and said that he has been very busy making a keyboard. I asked two questions in my email.

Question 1 was about the cerakote option because I was confused if the double charge on the form (for top and bottom) was correct or not. Turns out that it was indeed correct. There is supposed to be a $35 charge for top, and a separate charge of $35 for the bottom for a total of $70 if you get both top and bottom done.

Question 2 was when can those of us who are not in the first 20 keyboard kits purchased expect our keyboards to ship. His response was September and that it would soon be in the group buy thread.

I think we just need to give him some time to get these first 20 orders taken care of and then he will let the rest of us know whats going on. I hope this helps everyone some.

Same (in the first 20 orders), received the order check email on June 24.
Otherwise I haven't received any further updates since then, but Chan-min is likely working through the first 20 orders and getting them shipped this week/next week?

I'm in the first 20 as well. The email I got on June 10th for the July shipment notice says "We will start the shipping process from July 1st after we prepare. Unfortunately, we will not be able to ship all 20 items at once on July 1st."

All they had said originally was first 20 will ship in July. From July 1st is accurate as long as it ships this month, I'm sure we'll get an update soon.

Hello. We apologize for the late update.

We are currently organizing updates so far and will post new updates within 24 hours.

All order error corrections were successfully reflected.

There is a delay issue for the first 20 shipments.

An email will be sent about this. It will be updated in GB thread tomorrow.

Hello, I'm Chan Min Kang

The update is later than expected. I'm so sorry.

Now we are in the producting of the keyboard.

It's being produced sequentially, and here's the picture.

As for production, there is no big problem with the schedule so far.

There are other updates too.

Delivery of the first 20 orders was delayed.
An email has been sent to the first 20 orderers. (It was sent to more people by mistake.)

In summary, to prevent damage to the product during delivery
We custom-made a very sturdy box, but it hasn't arrived yet.

It is delayed by about 2-3 weeks than expected.
Fortunately, it will arrive in a few days.

Here is the full text of the email, including photos below. It was sent out yesterday.

-----------------------

I am Chan-min Kang

I am sorry for my late e-mail.
While we're trying to send you our product, one problem happened so the delivery will be delayed. This was an unexpected problem we hadn't anticipated and we couldn't do anything about it.

No one wants their keyboard to be destroyed while delivery.
We send products all over the world, and so far there have been occasions where the product has often been damaged.

Thus, we decided to make new boxes for shipping the products.

This is a thick and strong box for export abroad.

We couldn't find the size of the box we wanted among the boxes on the market.
We ordered these boxes a few weeks ago so we should have already received these boxes.
We're going to receive these boxes on July 14th because of a problem with the box making.
We are very sorry for the delay in the delivery of the product.

We couldn't let you know in advance because it was a delay caused by a problem with the box maker.
We are sorry again for the occurrence of this problem.

The delivery period we can send you the products will be from late July to early August.
Please email me if your address changes before shipping, or if you have any other inquiries.
We apologize to you again. We will try our best to send the product to you as quickly as possible.

This is a small update. This is how a box is made in a factory.

Korea is a rainy season recently. Because of this, there is a slight delay.
We have to avoid rainy days because we ordered a box of about 800 pieces.
(Maybe you can check it by searching for 'south Korea weather' on Google.)

Fortunately, this does not mean an additional delay in delivery.

We'll update you if there's new news again!

I write for the buyers

in Korean, MR.Kang aka kkingkkong is famous for being a LIAR.

He often broke his promises and had frequent delays.

So, Koreans never believe him currently.

RAINY SEASON? LIE.

It is true that Korea is in the rainy season, but there are few days when it actually rains.

There wasn't much rain to delay.

IN FACT, it is just laziness.

I was a buyer of his kbd, and I had been disappointed a lot with his lies.

my question is, if he sent only the spring, why he must upload the shipping number in PP? so he can get the money earlier?

Hmm.. I'm wondering why he "randomly" selected only 9 people. Mind if I ask where you're located?

I don't mind delays as long as the guy is transparent and the keyboard arrives at some point (at least before I die)  :-[

i got the same email on 6 July as part of a group of 4 randomly selected people with the same details of a spring shipment.

However, i will add that i did not get a tracking number update in my Paypal invoice.

I've reached out to Chan Ming on his discord channe; to clear this up on Geekhack. Let's see what he says.

I also got the same email as part of the spring shipment and my PayPal was also updated with a tracking number. I have literally reached out to him about 5 times through email with NO response. I think this is pretty unacceptable, really regretting spending the money on this keyboard as opposed to other ones.

I was a part of the June 30th spring shipment “random” group. I did think it was weird at the time. Why do I need springs if I don’t even have the keyboard yet to make use of my switches???

I did get a tracking number for the springs but they have been in US Customs in Chicago since July 6th.

660_0061
660_0063

This is the order in which the payment was completed first among the ones that can be sent right away in July.
(Two people were excluded from the list above due to a problem with the order.)

We will update you if there is anything new.

Any updates, pictures, etc would be greatly appreciated by all!

Be patient bro, you're lucky to be in the first batch. It is only 4 days into July. As he stated, he'll give you an update as it comes.

If it's just an issue with boxes I'm sure just a few pictures (of a finished product) and a short update would really do this GB some good right about now.

Sorry for the late.
I've known about that post since yesterday.
Yesterday I came in to write an update on geekhack, but I put the update post on hold because there was a controversy.
And I've prepared some to explain that.

The box we ordered arrived at the office on the 16th. Here's a picture, too. It's piled up in the warehouse.
When we sent the package last time, it was damaged. So it's a box that's been custom-made solidly for this purpose.

---

In the post above, it was actually a rainy season, but did you say that it only rained for a few days. right?

https://bit.ly/3eFrmFV

https://www.weather.go.kr/weather/climate/past_cal.jsp?stn=108&yy=2020&mm=7&obs=9&x=25&y=11
((Alternate URL, use Google Translator.)

Here's the weather records from the Korea Meteorological Administration.

Based on Korean time, it was recorded that it rained on the 14th, when the original box was supposed to be picked up.

There has been a weather forecast for rain in our area, and regardless of whether it will actually rain or not, shipping cannot begin at the risk of damage to the box.

Yes. We have intermittent showers where our office is located.
So there is a forecast that it will rain, but does that mean it should have started shipping because it won't rain right away?
We didn't spend a lot of money on dampor wet boxes!

---

We sent DGL Spring first for 13 people out of 660 keyboard orders.
While waiting to receive the keyboard, it was a small secret event that gave some randomly chosen people something to enjoy.

Did you know that we sent those springs to EMS or UPS? We paid about $20 to 40 dollars per person to ship a five-dollar spring to one set.
We sent it to 13 people, and we spent about 600 dollars on this alone.

Also, This is not ready yet, so we didn't plan to reveal it at all, but we were also preparing for the homepage.
https://kkkk.works/en
We started this a few weeks ago. We even registered a PayPal test account.

See the creation date?

If this is a scam, why would there be a reason to spend a lot of money making boxes, spending hundreds of dollars on shipping, and sending Spring first?
We wouldn't have even prepared to open a store to sell the accessories we made.
If this is a scam, it means that there is no need to make any effort like this.

---

We know that tracking information about sending Spring is suspicious of being registered in PayPal.
But this was for the convenience of the recipient.

Spring was sent in two separate shipments. When we first sent out the spring, we entered the tracking number in PayPal so that the recipient could easily track it.
At first, the shipping inquiry information for spring shipment was entered first, because it was possible to re-enter it when sending the keyboard.
However, the next time sent it out, we didn't enter tracking number on paypal.  it because we think someone might be worried about this.

This is the difference between the person with and without the tracking number on the PayPal.

If it's part of a fraud process to get money from PayPal quickly, why didn't we enter tracking information on PayPal from the second time?
We wanted the people who received this to try it on a different switch, or compare it to the other springs that they have.
To be honest, we wanted the recipients to like it and look forward to it. That's why we started.

---

We received a total of about 150 orders. It's really hard to manage because there's a lot.
We need to check and manage the production going back and forth from the factory almost every day and adjust the factory schedule such as post-processing work.
We know that a large number of orders in the U.S., so we are also preparing manufacturing proof documents to exempt tariffs.

So there is a delay in updates or email responses. The store in preparation is also experiencing delays due to this problem. we are always sorry for this.

---

It is true that we do not have a good evaluation in Korea. We had problems with our previous GB, and we had some serious problems.
There is also a problem that has been delayed for quite a long time. We are well aware of this and are reflecting on it.

So we fixed many problems and started GB with a new mindset.

We also announced the delay and updated the production status. right, actually the 660 delivery was delayed. It was a packaging problem, and as shown above, I saw the weather forecast and got it delivered on a rainy day. The boxes arrived safely and are now in our warehouse.

---

We know you're worried. But that kind of post looks malicious.
We're not even that famous. Have you ever heard of the products we made before? You might find it on YouTube. But this is a minority. We've been making keyboards for quite a while, but we're still small.

'Koreans never trust him?' The quantity of GB this time is larger than the number of keyboards we have made so far.
If we've made a huge amount of keyboards, that's right. But most people judge us only by rumors. If the total population of Korea was about 50, it would be true that Koreans never trust me.

Please believe us. We're working without time to sleep. We're trying, and we're trying to show this. I don't know why this controversy arose. It really wears us out.

Delivery will begin from late July to early August for quick delivery, and from September for the rest. This is already announced.

You have to understand, the distrust on the part of the community before the delays, for my part, honestly, I decided to acquire the kkingkkong for the fast delivery, I thought that I would already have it in my hands because it looks incredible.
But due to all these unforeseen parts of me is sorry, perhaps if from the beginning I had known that the delivery would be later I would be much calmer and I would have bought it with another thought as well.
Still, I maintain my support for your project and I hope it will be solved soon. Greetings from a friend from Spain.

I might be the minority here but I feel like the "I got the keyboard for the fast shipping" isn't a valid argument because there was literally zero guarantee that you would even be in the first 20 paid orders to get the fast shipping. All of us paid before knowing if we were going to be in the early shipping group or not.

Delays suck, but they happen. So far the updates have been a little slow but the "content" of these updates is fine to me. Maybe it's just that I do my best to just forget about a group buy until it ships because I've read a bunch of stories about long delays on previous ones? This was my first one for a board so while I'm eager to get it, I'd rather wait a bit extra to make sure it shows up in the right condition.

Plus, he is providing evidences to prove that he is doing his best. I think he is doing fine so far. But please keep updating us all. I think communication is key of doing business.

And for the one who spoke badly about Chanming, please give us evidence to support your accusations

I am also a new comer. And this is my first group buy. I asked Chanming several questions via email before and after I joined the group buy. He can constantly get back to me in 2 days. Plus, he is providing evidences to prove that he is doing his best. I think he is doing fine so far. But please keep updating us all. I think communication is key of doing business.

And for the one who spoke badly about Chanming, please give us evidence to support your accusations

Agreed with the keyword here - accusation

I totally agree, maybe I don't express myself correctly, my English is very bad.
When you enter a GB you already know that everything takes a long time, effort and work. but knowing that I was in the top 20 increased my hype.
I contacted Chanmin by email, and he responded almost instantly, and clarified my doubts.
For my part I do not see any neglicencia, I see the work and the effort, otherwise Chanmin would not bother to give explanations.
The unforeseen are normal things in life, please, a little calm and tranquility, I am sure that we will all enjoy our KKingKKong sooner than we think. Love for everyone.

I don't think participants in the group buy are holding Chanmin to the fire for the delays themselves. Though I would argue is that managing a group buy means managing a small community of hopefully happy customers, and to do that successfully requires a level of transparency and honesty.

For instance, if you state that you will be shipping something on a certain specific date (~July 1) and wait 10 days (~July 10) to supply an update indicating there will be a delay I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some level of backlash which could have been avoided with a simple "heads up" and further detailed update later.

The addition of other community commentary regarding reputation is still all the while disconcerting, but still warrants some level of evidence to support.

This is to inform you that sorting and packing has begun for the initial shipment.

We will try to update even small things more often.

Firmware Flashing and PCB Testing for Product Shipment

If you need an indicator led, you can use 4 TPs below the PCB.

N, C, S, and R are Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, and RGB respectively.

That's the one thing that still surprises me. But for the price I couldn't really bother too much about it.
