Hey Takaki,

I have finally decided on all the colors I want - I will buy one top layer of each color group ;)

Just one last question before I place my order:

What color is the case in the above picture of you? Is this "Glossy Clear - 000"?

I asked the same thing right at the start of the GB.

Takaki only has a QFR and a Filco at hand to test, so he can't guarantee it. As you can see the Phantom plate doesn't fit due to 1mm differences, so I wouldn't risk it...

You win, damnit. I placed my order. I didn't think I'd put up for one of these, but here we are.
I really liked my color choice, though, that's what sold me on it.

Do we have an estimate on when these will ship? I think I'm going to need to pick up one of Feng's cases in the mean time, so I have something to type in.

Thanks for putting this together, hopefully this color is as gorgeous in person as it is in the photo.

Is it just me or is this becoming a thing at geekhack? I mean I know 'real life' and 'vacations' happen but people seem to start things with the best of intentions only to have them drag on and on or not happen at all.

Sometimes I think it would be good if people would either wait to do things or get help, and not picking on this group buy in particular in any way, just an idea.

Hopefully takaki can get back in the drivers seat and make this a successful endeavor!!

I believe if one runs a group buy, he/she needs to post an update at least once a week--even if there's nothing to say.  Most people have data plans for their phones and can at least post a few words even while on vacations =/  Just supporting Ray's sentiment.

Yeah def...there should be a rule like that in place.  Someone needs to post it in the official suggestion thread.

I'm not articulate enough to come up with something that would make sense to post there. And so it would probably just get a snooty response. Maybe someone will that is better with words.

I haven't been around long enough to see it as a problem, considering this is my first group buy and I've only been in it for about 8 hours now, but it would go a long way to help keep those who have invested into a group buy at ease, knowing that someone still cares enough to let us know that they're still thinking about us. Small updates are just as important, and just a "Just checking in to say I've got nothing to say, and we're still waiting on production" is enough to put most people at ease.

I don't think we should need a rule. If you are accepting hundreds of dollars from people for a product or service, you should be dropping a line from time to time to keep everyone updated. This is especially true if individuals are PMing you and asking valid questions in the thread. Its good business and common sense right? I'm not saying OP has done anything dreadfully wrong, but his lack of communication has left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Okay, question.

The only difference between the Phantom and QFR/Filco as far as these cases are concerned, is the 1mm difference. So can I assume you plan on having 1 of the sheets for the body set at 4mm, instead of 3mm?

If that's the case, can I order both the 3mm and 4mm version of that piece of acrylic for the body? So I'd have one case, but with the interchangable body piece, for when I upgrade from my QFR to a phantom PCB

Am I understanding this right, and is this a thing I could add to my order?

In the same boat. Time is running out to dispute the payment with paypal too. If the GB is going to go through, even if it takes a while, I'd still rather wait since I both want and need the case. I don't want to cancel, but I need to hear something from takaki. I have also emailed him with no response.

Well I posted about it to let you know that if you have your doubts and want your money saved, the OP being active yet unresponsive is a good indicator to make a poll among those who've ordered, and if many agree--contact Paypal before it's too late.

No idea what happened to Takaki, he hasn't been responding to my e-mails too, but he just replied to me a few days ago (give or take 3-4 days ago) with pictures update to my cases(asked for my address as well). So, I don't know what to judge here, something might have happened, I don't know. Give him more time? How many days until paypal dispute is finished? Have anyone tried emailing him?

This is something I feel strongly about: responding in PMs =\= giving updates in group buy threads.  If he responded to your PMs, he could have come here to type a brief note too.   (And this is different from the Dolch preorder, because that vendor is clearly still shipping everything on time).

In my opinion if a GB organizer effectively goes MIA for a month while still clearly checking the forum, it's fair to poll and cancel the GB.  I'm not in this one, but Ive been following some other failed GBs, and "let's give them more time" is not really a solution.

Ok, details :)  private communication was the keyword.

You guys could poll and cancel the GB, what I did was giving out his responses to me. I was one of the earliest to order a prototype(giving him ideas), and the case cracked in shipping and he made a brand new one with modified stand offs of my recommendation. So I'm happy with how it's going through, in my opinion, he delivers, and he was very responsive at first, but I don't know what happen now. Up to you guys to call the shot.

It's funny. All he needs to do is respond to this forum and say "I'm alive."

I think I should dispute now on Paypal.

Can't he just give a status update?

I feel duped.

If he even looked at this forum and was a somewhat respectable vendor, he would at least say something on this forum.
