There may be extras in certain vendors' stores. Keep an eye out around the time GB orders start to ship.

Anyone know if the Rama's & Deskmats will ship to people who just bought those when they arrive at vendors or will they hold on to them until the Keysets come in?

I believe artisans and deskmats usually ship separately

Generally, if you bought all items together, they will ship together; artisans and deskmats ship when they arrive if you bought them separately.

Most likely by Q4 2021. For reference: Ashes ran in February and is tentatively scheduled to May 2021. This ran about 4 months later into the year.

Color samples are in!

With the measurement of the colorsamples we received from GMK we have decided that we will have to order another round of samples.
Below are the correct measurements for both RAL5004 and RAL3028 in comparison to the GMK reproduction.

i bought 4 ghost koi and 4 bonsai mats, lol. i figured people will want miss these and regret it, so i got extras. i'm sure there will be a bunch of extras floating around since it sold so well. you'll just have to wait until it actually ships.

Candykeys ships once everything from the GB arrives as far as I know.
Doesnt matter if you only ordered deskmats or RAMAs.

How fast the samples will get to us is in GMKs hands. We have absolutely no control about how long it takes for each sample round to be made/shipped to us.

Yes indeed. We just received the 3rd round of samples.

But there are still no good news to share. Even the third batch of samples failed...

Apologies in advance if you've already done this, but have you tried clipping out pieces of the RAL color book to send to the plastic manufacturer? I know that my own GB and another GB have run into issues with SP's supplier, for instance, where the RAL standards that they have access to have drifted from the ones I based my color decisions on.

When I gave them a chunk of the paper I was actually looking at, they fixed the problem.

how unfortunate that this is holding up the rama caps and the amazing deskmats. next time i'll split up my order. lesson learned.

Bit more detail on this:

We are currently in discussion with the designer if using the red from sample 2 and the latest blue/black sample would work with his vision.

If I'm reading this right, the blue/black might be getting approved, and it's possible they'll go ahead and run with a red that was closer from an earlier round. The DeltaEab (2000) color difference calculations for the red in rounds 2 and 3 came out to less than 4, which is really good. The 5.81 delta for the blue/black is also quite close, assuming it still looks right via eyeballing it.

Can you please update us on when this set will finally enter production?

I thought the colors were approved some times ago already, and this is the oldest set in queue that has its color matching finished.
Maybe time to push GMK to make this one instead of others that ran several months later.

Many of us have money tied up in this never ending project that is proving more about your inability to manage a project than anything else.

Check the discord server for updates, you won't find any here. Currently in GMK queue which the designer can't do anything about.

Geekhack talked about implementing a rule whereby designers would be expected to make at least monthly updates on the forum, but they have yet to start enforcing that rule.
