2x Base Kit

Interesting pricing even for SP. If we get ~20 more orders, then everyone on the list (once its over 38 base kits) for the base should double their order, it would only cost them like $1 extra per base and they'd have double the WYSE moogle sets....

Math: at 38 base kits each one costs $36.65. Everyone doubles their order which bumps it up to 76 base kits which now cost $18.81 each, so get 2 for $37.62. So for an extra $0.97 you are now getting 2 kits instead of 1.

pretty sweet! RCT get in here and get us up to 38 base kits please :whip:

Just write in OP, in order to order you have to order 2x base kit and the reasoning, and BAM we're done

Changing mine to
2x base
1x add-on

I'll PM in a bit :P

I just put together your info from previous transactions, so unless anything's changed, don't worry about it.

As of right now, I'm just worried about the addon kit making it to 25 orders.

I am happy to double the base kit.  But then I will also need to double my addon kit!

EDIT: Actually, from now on, if we have pricing structure like this, just make it the minimum order unit is 2 or same price for just 1, then we will automatically get to the second or third discount tier.  I am serious!  :-)

Dumb questions.
1) What does the WYSE stands for?
2) What does Moogle mean?

After figuring these things out, I might be in for a few sets. I'm still a bit confused about how these WYSE keys look like. Are they the keys in gray color, and surround the primary area(A-Z and punctuation)?

As for Moogle, it's like Muggle (from Harry Potter) except they're cows.

Wyse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyse
Wyse terminal keyboard: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=wyse+terminal+keyboard&qpvt=wyse+terminal+keyboard&FORM=IGRE

Wyse have 2 kinds of keycaps.  One kind is thin like Signature Plastics' keycaps, one kind is very thick and nice.  Alpha, numeric, and function keys fit modern keyboards, but not the front row keys, and may be a few others.  This is where Moogle kit comes in.  It is named after a Geekhack member here who came up with the idea of ordering keycaps with matching color and font from SP for the front row keys and spacebar plus whatever other keys are missing.  Then you have a full set of keycaps that look the same (or close enough) on the whole keyboard.

There are also Moogle kits for white/beige Cherry double shots, Black Cherry double shots, and Dolch double shots.  See the other moogle kit interest check threads.

You should be able to find a lot of new to like new Wyse terminal keyboards in China from the "western garbage",洋垃圾.

Thanks a lot for the info!  Finally got much clearer with the idea of Moogle kit.

Just don't understand why so many people in this forum really like this kind of "classical style" key set. IMK most would prefer "modern style". :P

Is there really the word "western garbage" in English? I thought 洋垃圾 is only used in China, to express those outdated electronic stuffs from outside China.

Most people who love keyboard in China have problems with using "western garbage" since those keyboards could be very very disgusting. But yeah you might be able to find some like new ones, it takes time though.

personally I would like to see a change from the "/" and "*" to the proper divide and multiple that we are accustomed to use in daily life, but I guess first thing first.

afaict, they are grey..  which is balls! :(

As I had only recently gotten 2 x sets of the white on black wyse double shots from clickey/quarzac and was hoping to get the usual ctrl x 2, alts x2, winkeys x2, winapp x 1 and most importantly STEPPED Capslock.. on both my Filco and Leo, my current capslock keycap sticks up like jacky.. and i hit it way too often. :l and stepped looks pimped.

The alternative for me I guess, is find a GB for Wyse white on black for the bottom  (Ctrl) row and then just get proffoist to mod my stepped mofo's. but I have possibly ruined one :X

Yeah, those KBDmania guys really love WYSE (with good reason). Hopefully we'll get more orders.

I'll take 1 or 2 base kits once I decide what keyboard they're going on. (Maybe I'll just have to buy another.)

I think this is important.  We need to somehow finalise the matched cap/legend colour and the spacebar colour.  Key profiles and font look to be standard SP.

Is your WYSE yellowed? I have one very yellowed keycap left over that didn't get retrobrited. I have one set of slightly yellowed, one set of not-very yellowed, and one almost full set of retrobrited WYSE.

The retrobrited set looks best by far.

You can pretty easily get the colours by looking at the bottom, though.

I think I'm going to add a TAB and ISO enter to the base kit. I don't think it will affect pricing too much, but I won't know until Melissa is back. Because she is apparently out until the 14th, this buy will close the 16th. The next week will be for collection, and as soon as I have all the money, I will submit the order.

[STRIKE]I have a kind of... peculiar request for one of you guys. I found a pretty good WYSE set on eBay, but most of my money is tied up, so I don't feel totally comfortable buying it right now. If one of you could buy it and then ship it to me, I'll knock the price off your end result invoice. I'd prefer it be someone I've dealt with before, but beggars can't be choosers. I understand it's kind of a weird request, but worst case scenario I'll just end up color matching to litster's pictures.[/STRIKE]
Ended up buying one myself. No one need worry about it.
