"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Oh that didn't even occur to me! Well, here's another non-post count milestone for you:

My first keyboard mod!
Took some time last night to swap some of the switches in my Das keyboard. I had hoped I would just be able to swap the stems without desoldering, but wasn't so lucky.

I had 5 reds and 3 blues. All 3 blues and 1 of the reds were the pcb-mounted style so I ended up swapping their base with the base of the switches I desoldered instead of trying to trim the stems.

...
Check out the pics! http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=39153.msg762577#msg762577
:)

My future Das Ultimate S, all modded up. For now, it's a bit more black.

You (and every member) should use the "Nostalgia" theme.

They really are, and I meant to say I'm NOT as good as I'd like to be. Gameplay is so much slower and more deliberate. CoD, I could room into a room during S&D and kill the whole team almost if I wanted to. That doesn't work at all in CS.

Congratulations Mr jdcarpe!

Live long and prosper :)
