I still go through long binges of D2, usually ending once I finish an uber run and complete at least one toon. Or if my account gets hacked.
I tried to play PoE but they don't play nicely with Creative soundcards... Are the two games really similar?

Ah ah ah, I was expecting someone correcting this verb. :)
If you have tried Diablo III and enjoyed Diablo III for what it is. If you're frustrated of this Diablo III because you spent so many days/months on Diablo II and you're disappointed ... I double-recommend you to try Path of Exile.

As a *HUGE* Diablo, especially Diablo II fan, Path of Exile is a really great game.

Paging @CPTBadAss

I asked him this same question and he mentioned Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3 as good options (IIRC).

This is great to hear, once I get my hardware sorted I'll give PoE a playthrough. Thanks!

I've been playing a lot of Risk of Rain lately, along with a sprinkling of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Peak of the series besides Ocarina of Time IMO) Gamecube version of course.

Been playing Diablo 3 a lot lately mixed in with smite.

Good contrast of PVP and PVE

Unfortunately my RNG sucks in both (and just about any other game a I play)

Tried the new nexon game dirty bomb and past level 5 it sucks.

Is there any thread out there where some GeekHack members have a game night?

Playing some more System Shock 2 with a graphic mod pack and I'm playing the psy class, and so far I'm being really jumpy at every little sound and noise on the ship, and so far I'm having quite a lot of fun.  :)

It actually looks really fun. Some people have said the missions are repetitive, but if you look at other pseudo-sandbox games with storylines, the missions are bound to be repetitive. Go somewhere , kill people and get an item? Is that not just Skyrim, GTA, Assassin's Creed etc.

Anyway, I think it looks cool. A bit of Batman combat, a bit of driving, a bit of driving combat, car customisation. I think I will enjoy it.

I've been a Mad Max fan for a long time. I was impressed with Fury Road and the game looks amazing. I won't be buying it right off the bat though. I'll wait for the extra content, bug fixes, and possible modding community to build first. Hopefully someone on GeekHack will come out with a good review of it.

I didn't want to buy it for £35 either, so I was glad I found it for £15. I will be playing it a fair amount over the next couple of days or so, so hopefully I will be able to provide you with a small review :)

Been finally playing Dark Souls 2: SotFS after wanting to since it was released. Very frustrating at times, but also incredibly fun and so much customization for weapons and builds, I love it. I can't wait for Dark Souls 3.

Tend to play a lot of horror games. Currently switching back in forth between both Metro games, Silent Hill 2's PC port and Resident Evil 5 (more of an average shooter, but eh, fun enough). Managed to get the Metro Redux games for exceptionally cheap last month, and I have to say the redesign makes 2033 a lot more engaging. But Last Light feels pretty much the same.

Playing a lot of Killing Floor 2. Not a ton of strategy in it's current early access state, but tons of room for improvement and additional features to come make it a worthy time killer.
Mostly using Beserker class, getting in to Demolitionist a bit but having trouble conserving ammo. Looking forward to more classes in the future.

Getting back into Diablo 3 again.. a little late to the season, but have been playing so much Dark Souls 2 lately. I missed Diablo..

I also am itching to get back into Heroes of the Storm again. I was pretty obsessed with that game until June when the expansion for FFXIV came out. Now there's been a bunch of new heroes, the new map, I need to get back into it. I haven't even played since they completely overhauled my favorite hero, Brightwing, a little nervous about what they did to her.

There are few games that I'll pay the full $60 on pc. The one this year most likely is fallout 4, MGPP will be discounted by then anyways.

It has to be a pretty special game to me to spend 60$

I'm the same. The dollars per hour cost of Fallout make it a no brainer. I will do at least 60-100 hours on one play through if it is anything like the previous ones.

Last game on steam I payed more than $40 for was Wasteland 2. Great game very Fallout like (as expected from it's pedigree) and I put 60 hours in. Waiting for the update later this year before I start my 2nd play through.

Yeah, a game has to allow me to put more than 20 hours into it before I'll consider spending $60 on it.  Even then I have a hard time because I need to know the game is actually worth it.  A lot of developers are pricing there games out for someone like me.

Also, there is absolutely no valid reason to charge the same price for a digital copy of a game for your PC as you would for a console version.  Consider it a silent protest for me to wait for the prices to drop to something reasonable.

Yeah agreed. I work making 'AAA' games and I would not be paying the prices we charge for the product, physical copy or digital. One day when I'm in charge...  ;)

I mean if I have the money, nicely priced indies I will fork up their full price, as it's usually, $15-$30.  :)

Yeah agreed. I work making 'AAA' games and I would not be paying the prices we charge for the product, physical copy or digital. One day when I'm in charge...  ;)
