Yeah, super bummed I bought Aliens: Colonial Marines.  That game was awful.  Only played about 30 mins and surprised I made it that long.  Gimme my money back! Hah.

Agreed. If I had spent more than 35$, I would have been totally pissed.

Oh boy do I regret buying Aliens: Colonial Marines. Really I ought to have seen this coming, as a decent Alien title hasn't been released since the ill-fated Jaguar, and even then it may have just looked great because it was surrounded by unplayable flackware. Anyway, A:CM is bad. Really bad. Don't do it, hands off that 'purchase for myself' button and save yourself the pain and money. You'd be better off simulating the experience by wandering around the hull of a boat whilst being chased by anorexic models and giving yourself a HJ with a cheese grater.

On the other side of the proverbial joystick is Antichamber. A truly unique puzzle platformer in the same vein as the Portal series with some actually thought provoking mechanics.

I recommend playing Alien Breed instead. Pretty nice. Had it on Xbox, not sure if its available for PC too.

Multiplayer games have lost their appeal as I've gotten older, although Start Citizen gives me hope.

I replayed the Half Life games with my girlfriends last month, that's the last I've played.

I am waiting patiently for STALKER 2 and Destiny.

I've been playing Borderlands 2 a lot lately.
And some more FTL, gets a bit easier once you mod it so the rebel fleet slows down, I've finally gotten somewhere decent this time around. I did die before I got to the boss, but I save scummed so I can try again >_>

Depends what old is. I am 48 now and still playing though not as much as i used to. But i agree that FPS is now not as nearly enjoyable as it used to. The talk is mostly what turns me really off and i enjoy more the mature and tactical approach to these kind of games.
Now i waste my time more on older titles and replays of great games. I think i can not part with the gaming aspect of life. :)

got back into XCOM last night, played for about 6 hours till 3 AM. My team got wiped by mutons (I'll eat a death or two, but an entire wipe is a reload for me) and I realized it had been 2 hours since my last save (in that 2 hours I had got plasma weapons and completed both the capture missions, muton and outsider shard for the plasma and light plasma rifles D:)

Wonder why it's got such an ass metacritic score then. That's a voxel shooter with destructible enviroments right? Not unlike Guncraft?

Been stuck onto "Dayz" for 2 months straight.

I got out of it as I don't have enough time to sit on a roof or run through a bush for an hour. It's a cool game but all the new stuff they added made it a little too overbearing for me. I assume everybody plays shoot on sight now because if the disease, cold, food poisoning, starvation or zombies don't kill you, then other players will.

I always tried to play the "good guy" and just ended up dying a lot or getting shot by my "teammates" that I had grouped up with when they realized I had good loot.

I might reinstall now that the full mod is out. Hopefully that will cease having to **** around with update files every 3 hours.

Pretty much people are bored with the simplicity of the game and lack of textures, and the fact that your inventory (weapons too) are pretty limited. I myself find it highly emersive (well at least the WW1 mode... It's great, digging trenches and tunnels, popping up behind the enemy, or fortifying a base.)

Looking at the reviews it seems like a "you get it or you don't" game. All the reviews are 9s and 10s or 0s and 1s

Oh and as it turns out, Ni No Kuni is a hot HOT peice of garbage. Like total proper ****. Don't let it's awesome artwork and amazing cut scenes and voice acting fool you, the game is total ****. Imagine the worst kind of JRPG, where you spend 99% of the time mindlessly grinding with a ****ty battle system, and with AI party members dumber than PSX AI.

It's total **** and I'm pissed off that I got tricked into wasting 15hrs of my life.

I often play as hero as well, help people to get on their feet but leave quickly once we got them a gun. I play with my brothers and close buddies so our backs are pretty much covered. We are basically the salvation army in the server. Taking out bandit squads and saving newbies is what we do all day long.

My greatest achievement was destroying a large camp(6 tents and 5 vehicles) belonging to a bandit squad with 2 bandit guard at that time. We kill one and escaped. I've never gotten such a rush even from the time i started gaming from Counter Strike 1.0

DUDE.... Mark Of The Ninja is a really good game. I cannot recommend it enough. Rarely does a game leave me wanting more after finishing it. I either grow disinterested, or distracted by another game but MotN is so goddam good I cannot get enough. The controls are super tight, the art and animation is superb (think Jackie Chan Adventures,) and whoever did the level design should get a freaking medal. All these little details, like how the camera adjusts whether you're outside, sneaking, indoors, or in a vent. Killing guards is super satisfying and feels visceral making you feel like a total badass when you clear a tricky room in your own way without being detected. Man, the only drawback is it's a bit short but don't let that deter you, this game is amazing. Buy it right now, you will not regret it. Platformer of the year imo.

I signed up for Elder Scrolls Online and Marvel Heroes betas.  Pretty excited about ESO.  Three Factions, so world pvp should be a fresh look on the typical 'hey, that toon is flagged, lets go kill him'.  I could see some pretty cool fights coming about that.  Just hope they don't keep the language barrier that WoW has.  It only causes more frustration than it stops 'flaming'.

You get into the alpha with the order, and it looks like
a huge improvement over the second.

I sort of fell out around level 10. Had a good W/L ratio (something like 60-43-1?) and suddenly lost about 10 games in a row. Tried the game a week later and got absolutely stomped by "normal" bots (was playing co-op bot with a few buddies.)

It seems like players are either super pro (I've seen some level 1s with 3 games that sure as hell don't play like it. Pretty sure it's guys grinding for items, or trolling) or absolute retards (you know the players i'm talking about.)

Very rarely do you get an entire team of people who actually want to teamplay and have mics. Those are the good games, win or lose.

Anyway, I uninstalled. Maybe i'll try it again in the future. Maybe there's a level 10 hump that i've yet to get over. They really need to tweak the matchmaking, though, and they REALLY need to balance the heroes instead of adding 10 more every month. I know every hero is different but when you see drow, huskar, tusk, sniper, etc in every single game, it's pretty clear that every hero isn't "equal" and that there's a pool of about 10 heroes that are clearly "better".

Just remember that dota is a game of counters. No matter how unbalanced a hero is there will be a direct counter to it.

I only really play dota2. I have been playing runescape 2007 occasionally since I used to love the game when I was younger.. it's a trip down memory lane.

I used to love rs before I got those 99s and those clickings from the grinds really help in dota.

Internetlad, if you need someone to carry you in bot games (only bot games please), I will happily do that XD.
I rrrove brrracks.

I play 1-3 games of solo queue of Dota 2 per day, sometimes I'll still hop on WC3 and play some Dota 1, I'll play a few games of Dota 2 stack with buddies or something late at night, grind SC2 the rest of the day (stopped for now since WoL is irrelevant, once HotS is out I'll be back at it). For now I'm just looking for some good single player game to immerse myself in (I'm very picky, don't give me any suggestions).
