If you want a tkl go with the CTRL if you are okay with a 65% go with the ALT, both have hotswap PCBs, which will let you experiment with different switches.

It's not using Cherry switches but still costs $100 with only basic RGB as its defining feature.
You can get a $50 keyboard generic Chinese board with the exact same quality and switches. If the money isn't a big deal then just buy something more expensive and better.

^ and it isn't a hot-swap board, and the cable isn't removable, and the caps are lasered ABS. Pretty poor value for the price.

I think it looks ugly and thick. Get a Leopold!

Nice call on the GMMK, I completely forgot about that one as a good starting point, with RGB lighting and hotswap PCB.

I could have grabbed one of those for a song (comparatively) on an auction website not too long ago. The only ergo keyboard I have ever tried is the old beige M$ ones. I didn't mind it, but I didn't particularly like it either. I owned at least one for years. I might, still, maybe. I can't say I used it more than once, just to see what it was like.
