If you choose Alu Bottom, You should pay a little more.
and couldn't use RGB backlight.
Alu Bottom color will be only black.
Sorry for not many choices. :(

WOOOOOOOOOOOO ;D ;D  :p :thumb:
My toilet overflowed!!!!

I will definitely not mind paying extra for an aluminum bottom as the total price is already so low!

Will the aluminum top and bottom connect seamlessly? As in connect with no bumps etc?
The polycarbonate layer connects to the aluminum top with a lip/bump/edge popping out and I don't really like that.

I basically need a KMAC :DDD

As you can see the pictures, top and bottom size are different.
someone like and dislike this shape.
i made this shape for RGB LED spreading.

I see, thank you very much kin for explaining about the different size. I'm guessing since aluminum bottoms won't give out light LED spreading (obviously), you're going to think and design up another bottom design? If so, take your time :) I look back at it and I don't really mind the different size, I'm just glad an aluminum bottom is becoming available for us!

Seems like the PCB is still a bit delayed, nothing you or us can do to change it but wait.
Thank you again kin!

thank you.

i like a heavy alu bottom. so i will make alu bottom.
i made 3 kind of bottoms(alu, clear PC and black PC) 2nd proto.
but... i can't be satisfied alu bottom. so i didn't take a picture.
if pcb will be ready. i will make some alu bottom proto.
my english is very poor.

When you are satisfied kin, go ahead and show it! Don't rush it if it's not ready to your likings.

Don't worry about your English! It is good enough where we can relatively understand it.

Black PC bottom with a silver/brushed metallic top might look pretty cool.

Black PC bottom is more expensive 1.5times. So I have no plan to make Black PC bottom. Sorry  :(

This is the bottom I'm referring to:

Show Image

Are you saying that won't be an option?  Just trying to confirm.

I think that Alu Bottom is better than Black PC Bottom at the same price.
How about Alu Bottom?

I did not realize the photo was just a prototype.  Thank you for clarifying.

Yes, Aluminum would be preferable if it's the same price as the PC would have been.  But don't go out of your way on my account.

Still so excited for this! Quick question though, would this case be compatible with a phantom pcb and phantom compatible stainless steel plate? I have the two and would prefer to use them if it could keep the price down.

Which way does the connector need to be in order to fit in this case?

On the upside GON has the option to solder the connector soldered on the top side therefore it should be compatible making this case look that much sexier to me.....

very tempted. is cable exit only on the right side though? or what is the notch above the end of the F-row?
I don't really understand how all these things work but do I have to buy a controller for it? and controller is what decides NKRO over USB and such right?

impressive work, though, I must say.

Looks like the mini usb port is where the notch is on the F-Row. I think controller will already be soldered onto the board, as most Korean customs have this feature.

I think it happens once the PCB design is finalized and the Alu bottom prototype is done!

My plans exactly. I believe I will be using the NerD TKL PCB with this (though I'm wondering if the plate will need to be modded to use it (like using a NerD PCB housing with the KMAC plate and housing)

Nerd looks like a87(right side usb connecter). so you may use Nerd PCB on tx87. but you must use longer usb mini jack.

I wonder if it is possible to buy only the case to put the PCB etc. of another keyboard into it. Pretty much like if you want to change the case of an existing board.

As long as the plates can be painted / anodized (black, preferably) I'm interested.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the components/manufacture of the PCB. I kind of feel like I got a little f***ed on my TrikX (don't get me wrong - it's my daily driver but after all of the hullabaloo about the soldering and chatter, etc. I'd like to know that if I'm going to drop cash on this it isn't just some hobbyist clusterf***k).

Have a Beautiful Day,

Well the two boards are in two completely different price ranges...

I expect the Duck to come out to nearly 400 shipped if not more. This one is looking to be about 300 after shipping and fees.

Elton just said that a new Duck TKL is in the works after the Octagon finishes. Hopefully these 2 don't compete.

Orion V2
Well the two boards are in two completely different price ranges...

I expect the Duck to come out to nearly 400 shipped if not more. This one is looking to be about 300 after shipping and fees.

Didn't he say it would be half the cost of Orion V1 because of the acrylic/pc bottom?
Ah... if that's the case then disregard what I posted.
But this TX 87 has an ALU bottom for just ~50 more  ;D

I thought this was going to be MX. Will it support MX or just Alps?
