Interest Check Form

Hey guys and gals

This is an interest check for a wood/acrylic stand for keycaps, namely artisan caps.

The stand is made of wood (which is treated with tung oil) and clear acrylic for the shelves. The shelves have a lip on the front to prevent the caps from sliding off
There is enough room for 7 caps on each shelf, which makes a total of 21.

I'm mainly looking to gauge interest to determine the volume of materials that I will have to purchase but also you thoughts on materials. I am planning on offering a number of different wood options but would love to hear what you would like to see the most.

Dimensions:

The base: 2" x 7.5"
Height: 5"
Shelves: ~ 5.5" wide and ~ 0.75" deep
Shelves are spaced 1" apart from each other and angled at about 30 degrees

What's next:

This will most likely not be a GB, but rather I'll make these available for those that are interested.

Here's an example of the most recent one that I made which will be it's final form, for now.
This one is black walnut that's been treated with tung oil.

I gotta figure out what boxes I'm going to use first, before I calculate shipping cost. But I don't see any problem shipping internationally.

I just wanted to share that I too would be interested in this product for our wonderful keycaps!

Obviously when you have more of an idea on cost and production time please do let me know, I wouldn't want to miss this!
I love the show-off aspect to some of your favorite keys -- But I still struggle to find "item X" when I need it because collections can become so large.

I've made one prototype with acrylic sides and wood base, but I really liked this better. It could certainly be an option.

Thanks to all of you who have filled in the IC form this far.

I'm going to get the acrylic shelves cut from Ponoko because it takes far too much time to do it by hand and it should reduce the number of imperfections in the edges.

After a few emails with someone at Ponoko, I think I need to redesign my template a bit. So hang tight guys.

I just thought of an idea!!!!! You should also make an acrylic case that surrounds the display. Like a box with no bottom and it can go over the display so dust and stuff won't get all into it.

Question: if this/when this goes through, will the info on the interest check won't be the info for our order?

I was thinking more on the lines of this as far as a cover goes. Imagine having to dust each cover for each row versus one cover for the whole thing.
