That's just the 55g talking. If you want 55g you can get it for cheaper. And hell I encourage it. But rf not worth it's price

55g doesn't talk when I look down and see the 10AE keyset...
Same experience, ~200 dollars cheaper

It's really not though.

I'm not discussing whether the 10AE keyset is worth $200 (obviously I think it is, but that's a different story), I'm saying that this keyboard is IMO the most complete out-of-box experience.  I stand by that.

You have artisan caps on your HHKB that don't add functionality.  How you can then ignore the keyset on a 10AE I do not understand.

What exactly are you arguing with me about? We both agree that the 55g RF is possibly one of the best out of the box experiences. I'm saying, to me, the keyset is not worth it's premium since it only adds looks and nothing else to an already great switch.

Apparently nothing?  I dunno.  I'm factoring the looks into my "best out of box experience" claim, while you seem to not care about that.  If I had a regular 55g RF I would feel like it's missing something and would want to swap the keycaps (ie, no longer "out of the box").

Best looking HHKB setup on GH, hands down.

I've sent roughly 35-40 so I've spent $195ish mailing caps and small crap.

yeap, majority of the time i'm raw dogging it because the setup stands up exceedingly well on its own imo. only priority thing left for me now is kudosandgodspeed has been working on making an anniversary blue blank to replace the \ key, if/when that happens i'll try and get it dye-subbed with Del in the realforce font (idk if this is even possible) so that i finally have full symmetry/appropriate legends. then i'll get someone with a legit camera/steady hands to take actual good photos of the keyboard for me  :p

Very nice! :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

With that said, when I first got it, the layout definitely took some getting used to. However, it's all 'bout dem feels and your phalanges can't like everything :D

I didn't like the lack of programming ability and I felt that the layout was not really good for touch typing purpose, especially that diamond arrow cluster. However I did like a lot to put Ctrl on the Caps Lock and that's what I use on my TKL over since.

I did only try a Type-S though and I felt it too mushy. For me it lost most of his tactility, trying a normal one could be nice but I felt the price was not worth considering the other point I mentioned.
