Well, when in Rome...meaning, when you have three Topre keyboards at your disposal...photograph them!!
_____

First one: This is demik's HHKB he put up for tour. What a hero. I've had a lot of fun using this keyboard, and it's awesome that so many others have had the chance to as well.

HHKB Pro 2 half-shot

I bet when demik uses his HHKB it glows :P

when demik uses his HHKB

______

Next, my brand new HHKB Type-S. It's amazing to use and really the HHKB I should have bought in the first place. I decided to keep it simple, stupid! with the Control/Esc kit.

HHKB Pro 2 Type-S

______

Finally, the messiah....a better photo of my Digilog Realforce 87u 55g, with purple sliders and some red keycaps!

when you have a bunch of parts laying around and you decide to create captain realforce 85ug-btc using them

red plate is from 106uw (had to cut the bottom row, which is why some of the keys aren't straight atm)
graphite case from 89u-10th
pcb from 87u-10th
caps from 104ub-dk
domes are variable since it's a beater board

will work on it more later, had about enough of dealing with it for today

Not really a fan of MX caps on HHKB but that does look pretty decent, but those SA caps look good on anything :)

i love MX because you can pretty much get keysets in any colors you want, but MX caps on a topper board just seems... unnatural.  but whatever since keyboards are a very personal thing.

i'm just curious how the SA profile looks on the HHKB tho.  q1, can you take some pics of your board from a couple of different angles?

If I were in the position to purchase it brand new, I would likely opt for the regular HHKB and maybe silence it with dental bands. In my opinion, I think the regular HHKB "feels" slightly better to type on. In addition, I like the sound of the regular variant more.

That being said, I take my Type-S with me to work and occasionally bring in the regular HHKB due to the noise.

It's quite a bit quieter, the most drastic change is the spacebar.

I partake in a few games of Typeracer here and there throughout the day... During those down times the noise is definitely noticeable.

In my day to day work activities (front-end dev/designer), I don't think the noise is that distinguishable.
