"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I had them and they sound and feel fantastic, just a little too light for my own tastes.  They definitely need a better built case and keyboard than the KB-5181 to do them justice though.  They just feel so smooth and crisp, but that case is just so plasticy and flimsy.

I would, but I sold my KB-5181 since I had need of money more than the keyboard unfortunately.  Unemployment led me to sell both my F AT and my KB-5181, it sucks.  Both are kind of unicorn boards.
