Hello all - I present to you GMK Cyrillic WoB & Beige.

What?
GMK white-on-black and retro beige, now with Cyrillic sublegends. These are brand new doubleshot moulds developed for this project, paid for in part by this and GMK Red Alert. Given the slightly higher cost by default, kits are done with maximum bang-for-buck in mind, with support for 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL and TGR Alice-layout boards.

- grave, Q, W, E, U, I, O, P, ], A, S, G, K, L, semi-colon, apostrophe, Z, X, B, M, comma, period: all using T0mb3ry's mono Cyrillics as sublegends
- R, T, Y, [, D, F, H, J, C, V, N: all using Cherry Latin as sublegends
- the '/' tertiary legend on the pipe key has been put in the top right to be more accurate to the way it's used
- Ë position changed to bottom right of the keycap to be consistent with the rest of the Cyrillic. This is a change that Cherry made in their later Cyrillic boards that hasn't translated through to a lot of modern sets.

Looking to keep this just to beige right now, so no WoB or BoW this time round. Pad printed red sub legends are a possibility however I'm leaning towards keeping it at doubleshot sublegends.

There already was GMK Classic Retro Cyrillic with red pad printed sublegends.
Therefore I prefer the doubleshot option.

Don't run the pad-printed sublegends, at least not in their present form. They are awfully misshapen and are a far cry from what proper Cyrillic characters should look like (for a correct reference, check out GMK Yuri or GMK Yugo's Cyrillic legends).

I do not know if it is only me, but the WoB feels like being more denser than any other colors. I know it may be just my fatigued fingers, though.

I've had a friend of mine that's got closer communication with GMK reach out about the different Cyrillic offerings they've got because to my knowledge it's never been done in doubleshot, and I want to make sure this is done right. Also because of that, none of the people who offer renders have the models so the KLE is going to have to do for now.

With how GMK is these days this is taking some time, but as soon as I do find out everything I'll try get this going. However, for now this is going to have little movement unfortunately.

GMK doesn’t offer tripleshot unfortunately. Red sublegends would have to be pad printed but as I said that’s not a direction I’m planning to go here.

It may be worth trying to reach out to all of those that you know of. Exactly as you said, they may be able to handle the logistics as it is a smaller, single-kit buy.

Since this alpha add-on kit is supposed to be paired with an existing beige keyset, the extra Tab lets you reuse half of the mods and the original alphas from that keyset to fully cover another keyboard (assuming it uses a different layout). Most keysets come with different options for the mods (stepped/non-stepped Caps, regular/tsangan bottom row etc.) — Tab is the only key that comes in a single copy. That's why alpha add-on kits like this include a second Tab; essentially, so that you can use the remainder of your set so it doesn't go to waste.

If you use a third color, it'll have to be pad-printed.

The reason it is being done with only one color for both the main and the sublegend is so that the entire legend set can be double-shot. It'll be the first in its kind (Cyrillic sublegend) to be done in this form, much like Hangul Beige and Greek Beige have been done.

Update 15/10:

New kit render added. Since none of these moulds exist and we're making them all for this project, the best thing to do is make it as accurate to actual Cyrillic as possible. Many thanks to konstantin for running me through this a while back, T0mb3ry for giving permission to use his Cyrillics, and allu for doing the render for the kit and having such incredible attention to detail. I am hoping to run this relatively soon - reaching out for a new quote now with this kit.

If this support is to be added, I would personally recommend also having a left Shift support added as well.

Any conversion from ISO to ANSI will require those three keys (at minimum): Left Shift, Enter, and pipe (which we already have)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think I'll pass. The initial quote we received was much more on the expensive side and though adding, say, an icon enter + 2.25 shift would make it able to convert ISO OG doubleshot sets to ANSI I don't think that's the direction I want to go here. It'd be a nice change for a small number of people but I think for the majority of buyers it would mean more money being put into keycaps they're not gonna use.

Raising the request for spacebars again for your re-consideration. I don’t think it will add much to the cost of the kit (please correct me if I’m wrong), but it will give quite a bit more flexibility as the person who buys this need not already have an L9 or CR alphas kit as part of another set eg 9009, WoB etc, and can pair this with another set eg GMK nines or something.

I don’t think it will add much to the cost of the kit (please correct me if I’m wrong), but it will give quite a bit more flexibility as the person who buys this need not already have an L9 or CR alphas kit as part of another set eg 9009, WoB etc, and can pair this with another set eg GMK nines or something.

I'm not Tom so I don't want to steal his thunder, but kitting has changed dramatically from OP. As of early January he's showing these two kits on his Discord server:

The rationale is that you get physical ISO coverage and somewhat cover a lot of layouts (you have quite a few using R3 |\ and others using R4 ><), though none really use both besides what's called 'terminal ISO' - but I don't think many people are using that at this point

You may consider including a key with both legends <> and \|, or maybe the two keys. Or the <>\ key that it is used in some euro-layouts.

Will there be seperate numpad for beige one? While WOB is easy to buy, beige is more rare gmk keycap set and it is often nice to have full set with numpad especially of more rare colors

Renderer of the kits here. It's an optical thing that happens with contrasting colors like that. Legends with the same thickness appear thicker when it's light color on dark background, and vice versa. I'm using a single set of legends for both versions, that's why it looks that way.

However I can't answer to what the actual legends will look like, or if GMK adjusts the thickness somehow based on the colors.

I just hope that your chosen vendors do not charge hefty shipping prices. Some vendors' minimum shipping costs start at $ [37–39], which is insane. As an example of the opposite, I just bought a Chess set from India that was under $50 with shipping included, it was delivered in few days by FedEx. There should be something the vendors may arrange, mostly with the recent trend of buys with hundreds of orders pre-purchased and paid in advance.
