True, I figured you have already read through that post. I assumed the switches would be wired directly to the audio jacks and the L-Trac software would handle the rest.

I can't actually find where the hell that post I lol. Would be really useful now :'(

E: found them on his imgur feed

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

left-handed DA! it's such a shame that there aren't more left-handed ergonomic mice. or left-handed trackballs! :-)
i also have a right-handed trackball plugged in, i'm just kind of alternating between the two..
it's surprising how quickly you can get used to new peripherals, even when it's your 'off-hand' using them. especially getting used to trackballs went really fast.

can i ask which model Omrons you switched them with?
and how is the difference? :-)

I just bought a Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless. I really like the black and red scheme more than the sparkly grey. Plus it would be pretty cool to be able to connect to my MBP with bluetooth and save a USB port for other things. Should be here tomorrow.

I had a wired one about 5 years ago and I loved it, but I didn't package it very well when I moved and it got destroyed. Just never got around to getting another one.

My Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless came in the mail yesterday and I'm loving it so far, except for the fact that TrackballWorks won't detect my mouse.   >:D

I've read that it won't work with bluetooth so I'm using the USB dongle. At first I was using a USB dock so I switched to a port on the back of my desktop instead. I've restarted my computer. Still no luck.

IDK.. g502 is king of the hill atm..  I gave mine away a while back, because i didn't game anymore, and I didn't have any other toys to give to my younger cousins.

I've not bought another one, since there hasn't been a reason to..

I honestly don't know! My hands are average (17.5~ cm from middle finger to palm) and I found the G400 and Deathadder to be monstrously large to an uncomfortable point.  As a guy, I wonder how girls manage with generally smaller hands.

In terms of the mice I've tried (getting a g302 soon, it was on a special) I rank them in this order:
1. Razer Diamondback 3G
2. Razer Abyssus (mirror edition)
3. RAT 3
4. Genius Maurus

I suspect that the steelseries kana v2 would either rank above or below the abyssus. I'm hoping I like the G302 enough to place it above the razer abyssus lol!

Right now I use a g502 on my gaming PC and an MX 570 for the home theatre PC. The MX570 is great with the home theatre PC because it's wireless and I don't have to worry about what surface it's on.

The abyssus is the only newer lightweight gaming mice right? by that I mean in the 80g level like the WMO.

Been using g502, but I'm getting fed up with it.  There's apparently a defect where after a while the middle mouse button stops working.  I've had 2 in a row (first one I thought it was me, so bought another) fail, and am getting ready to do an RMA replacement.  So back to the G700s.  At work I'm using the g9x, since I don't need as many keys.

I use a regular Apple Magic Trackpad for my main system (iMac) - not the ridiculous Magic Trackpad 2 that costs $130 and you can't replace the battery on. Got it on eBay for like $40 after the Trackpad 2 went on sale and have found it quite lovely for my purposes. You really can't beat OS X's multi-gesture support for managing things like multiple virtual desktops and windows and the like.

For my gaming rig I use a good old Logitech M500 I've had for years. I have two of them, one that's not being use from when I had more computers than I knew what to do with. Probably not the most elegant mouse or the most responsive/whatever but I don't seem to die very often playing the Witcher 3 so it must do a pretty good job.

tp4tissue if you remove the weights, the G100S also gets very light.
i'll quote someone from another forum: "you can remove the 14/15gram weight from the g100s quite easily taking the weight from 83 grams to 69"

like the WMO and abyssus, it has no side-buttons. shape is a bit weird, though.

higher dpi naturally causes jitter..

But the important thing is, the pixart processes all dpi natively...

I do my websurfing and other causal computer use at 6,000-7,200 dpi.. I've never noticed a difference when I switch down to 3,200-1,600 dpi for other stuff..

That is effin' brilliant! I'm bookmarking that for future reference. Luckily this mouse still has some pretty tight tolerances and except for the scroll wheel, it feels solid. I haven't decided if i want to crack into it yet. Maybe when i finally get some GPL-100 or GPL-205 lube in my possession i'll take it apart and try and get it into shape.

You need 5 switches for the IMO,

The forward 2 are already omron, but they're not the GOOD omron, they're the D2FC 7N MS,  which is the same as D2FC vanilla.

You want to get the good D2F-01F from mouser/digikey..

Really takes the mouse to a whole'nother lvl..

Lube can go either way,  I wouldn't say it's essential, But I think what I may do in the near future is add a spring to the wheel to tighten it up.

I have a G502, and I absolutely hate it. I get the twitching on any DPI (though, oddly, mine's better at the highest DPI). There are way too many buttons, my right click is spotty, the cord is fraying, the skates are in abysmal shape, and the stupid panel that hides the weights falls off all the time. -8/10, would not purchase again.

I'd like something with the basic features of an Intellimouse (5 buttons, optical, good tracking) in a better casing. I was looking at the Ducky Secret and the Zowie EC-1A, but I don't know which I'd prefer, and the Zowie has a 1-2 month lead time on Amazon! Microcenter has the FK1/2, but I don't know.

Anyway, recommendations welcome.

This jitter has to do with surface tuning.. if you're getting it on all dpi

Likely so, but the funny thing is that I'm using the Logitech G series polymer mouse pad. I would be more inclined to investigate if I didn't hate the mouse so much at this point.

try custom tuning for that surface, OR use the default profile, not the default logitech pad profile

which Steelseries and which Artisan?
did you clean out the lens?

G502 does not jitter on those settings at all for me, on various mousepads. QPad UC-50 v2 Pro, Steelseries QcK Heavy, Artisan Hayate Otsu, Fnatic Gear Focus D1, fUnc F30.R... or my custom glass mousepad, which is satin frosted glass.

is anyone using g502 here? do you guys feel like the mouse twitches sometimes?

that list says it jitters over 2000dpi.
Seriously?  :'( I should look in to this. Maybe I'm stuck with random mice brands like Sentey

Edit - Hmmm.. maybe jittery is a good thing?

higher dpi naturally causes jitter..

But the important thing is, the pixart processes all dpi natively...
I do my websurfing and other causal computer use at 6,000-7,200 dpi.. I've never noticed a difference when I switch down to 3,200-1,600 dpi for other stuff..

jitter is not a good thing :p
it means it's picking up things that aren't what you're actually trying to do. some people just aren't sensitive to jitter due to not needing pixel precision.

Recently got the MMO TE for work.

Very light, crazy accurate (using just the white desk surface, jitters on the Sphex I was trying).
Macros are VERY time saving for engineering.

Currently rocking a MX MASTER. A little choppy because of BT, but it gets the job done!
