For people who have experienced duck plates, I'm thinking of getting 2 plates but can't decide on whether or not stainless steel is a good option as opposed to alu or plastic. Any words of advice?
Personally I prefer softer plates, so plastic was my choice for the Orion. I am typing on a Viper v3 with an alu plate right now and it's quite nice but there was some work that was required in order to get it sounding the way I like it.

I dont remember duck offering pbt but I dont know **** so I could totally be wrong here. Anyways I have a pbt plate on my sally and would say it probs feels closer to poly than pom, but its hard to make any direct comparison. The sound is unique and the feel is very nice, not too flexy but a lil bit. Id recommend pbt plates tho if you can get one. Pbt plate with some nice pbt keycaps sounds fantastic.

Thanks! I think I assumed it was pbt but reading back now I don't think it's confirmed. I love ergo clears on PC plates so I'm hoping their plastic plate can replicate the sound/feel.

I didn’t put it back in, I’d have an easier time returning a 6lb baby back up a multiparous mom. You get your board and pcb/plate combos in a a cm of foam. That goes in a tightly fit bubble thing roughly shaped like an amongus suit where you pull the keeb out the face. That bubble thing sits snug inside the box.
It’s different than say rama or kbdfans (foam in a box in a box) and more like CK87 sakabato, which used about 30 feet of foam wrap.

Does anyone know how to change keymappings of the keyboard?Duck boards use a application called O2D + DFU and i have had success with the application in the past but I tried it with the Orion and wiped all the keysets lol. I found it easier to use QMK and QMK toolbox, in order to put the keyboard in bootloader mode you need to unplug the keyboard then hold down the backspace key and plug the board back in.
This site was helpful as well but QMK is the way to go for this

For what it's worth, you can force a static color by editing the individual values "RGB Color Preset" in 02D KeyMapper.

what leds should i use for the indicator leds? sorry if silly question
any single color 1.8mm LED should work great, i have used them on duck boards in the past
many vendors have them, but you can also score them from electronics stores like mouser, adafruit, etc. i think they are available on amazon too
just remember that they are directional. you can double check which direction to put them in by plugging in the PCB, then touching the legs to the pads to see if it turns on

Hello, I'm looking to add lights to the top corner next to the esc key, and the section above the arrows. Can I add any color lights, and what lights are suggested?Any light colors will work as for the type I have used varying types and all have worked so not sure if one is better than the other.

Got VIA working with the board along with the lock indicators, but backlight doesn't seem to be working as well as the layer indicators. Anyone else have simillar issues?

VIA is essentially just a QMK GUI, so that tracks
LED issues on ported PCBs of all kinds are pretty common, indicator or no
