Title: Kbdfans D84 V2 PCB have a lot of travel
Post by: drakelias on Tue, 15 February 2022, 12:10:27
Hi all,

This is my first custom keyboard. I just assembled by D84 V2 kit. Since the PCB doesn't have a way to mount to the case, it floats around on the gaskets. There is a lot of room for travel making the USB port not align with the hole in the case. Is this by design? Or did I miss assemble something?

Thanks in advanced!

I don't have a D84 myself, but it is normal for the PCB to flex in a gasket mount board. The USB port should still line up with the cutout in the case. It looks like the USB port is supposed to slot into the hole in the top case so that it doesn't move. Also make sure the gaskets line up with their cutouts in the case.
