That is a good explanation, just found pictures of icon mods so far. So the normal mods were probably more popular in the IC.

Seriously... recent custom color GMK group buys like Taro with far more compatibility were $155 at MOQ of 250. Hell, even GMK Camping which also ran on Kono.store was $175 and it had an insane amount of novelties in the base kit to help justify that price.
I love this colorway and I really want to support it, but the price/compatibility offered here is honestly laughable.

According to the IC thread, it was because an alternative version of the TA keyboard had R0 keys and it was all blue, though I do agree that the R0 kit shouldn't be all blue but the GB is already underway so there's no use in complaining. It's still a nice keyset and the R0 keys compliment it nicely.

With only 20 sets sold most likely not. I doubt the vendors would consider purchasing out the norde kit when its so far off and it doesn't sell well to begin with.

All these GBs with delays and no updates are really starting to get on my nerve. Bad news is better than no news at all. People constantly asking for updates and speculating the situation in the thread is not helpful to the GB at all.
Also, if it's a problem with MOQ, how come the runners and vendors are not promoting the keyset? You can extend the GB for as long as you want, but you'll never get any traction if people don't know about it.

There seems to be some misunderstanding.
I'm not saying we don't have a right to ask for an update. We absolutely do have the right to ask for updates on a product we are all trying to make happen as a group, and we should ask for updates when we feel we need to.
However, the GB runner should not create a situation where we are stuck in silence for so long that people start flooding the thread asking for updates and speculating on what the situation is. This just makes the runner and the proxies look bad.

Yes, GMK told me samples will finish next week.
OG plastic keycaps can make work much easier and I will make sure color is right after I receive samples.
But I need to say, the experience has taught that color might be slightly different from my screen to yours. I think color will be within reasonable margin of variation.

I went to en.zfrontier.com to find that the pre-order link for ta-90 was up. I added the base set and an icon modifier set and checked out. It worked.

from the price of 182 USD for the base kit I would think that this is a sale of pre-planned extra :) your order shouldn't be cancelled, but still best to get a confirmation from zFrontier on it.

As someone who have had the GMK set from the first round and had a pretty mixed feeling towards the color accuracy, I highly suggest that we double/triple check the samples and have as many people to review as necessary.

In my view all three custom colors perfectly match original colors.
But the white font color is a little bit whiter than original color.
As far as I know, GMK use CP color for samples. But looks like sample's color is more like WS1.
So I need to contact GMK to find out what happened.
How do you guys feel about samples? ;D

Samples look pretty good! If I were to be super picky, I'd say the alpha colors are very close, but not quite there. If you look at the first picture, specifically focusing on the two alphas on the right that are upside down, you can see that the sample is definitely lighter than the OG. Now whether gmk can darken these up a bit to match the OG color and/or whether the community cares enough to pursue that is another question. I also agree that the white legends look brighter than CP.
I agree. It does look ever so slightly lighter.

I'm pretty sure they are CP color, but I left my OG TA in my old quarters so I can only use samples for comparison right now.
The end product looks little more cream than samples with my naked eye.
Anyway, I will make another comparison with OG color when I go back.

Ordered mine from ZF extras, should arrive next week. And now I just realised that this set does not have 1.5u and 1u modifier in R4 profile :)) :)) no problem though, just gonna use this for my TKL board.

I ran into the same problem...had to desolder the 3 switches again...fortunately I had a 7U cherry stab to cannibalize the wire from...have to order a 7U sealpc stab sometime, because the cherry stab wire is a little thinner.

Finally received it from Kono after weeks of delay. The alphas are slightly warmer than I expected but it mostly matches the original TA. The set is quite muted and is almost as hard to photograph as Round 1. ^-^ My phone camera simply couldn't capture the color so I uploaded two photos.
