I think a big part of this issue or whatever you'd call it is that there is so much mention of making sure you don't mess this or that up when doing it or you will get catastrophic failure. So everyone starts off with alot of fear of doing it wrong and tries to follow it to a T

To MOZ and suicidal orange.

Id like to let you know that it finally is up and running!
Typing on it now!

It was a matter of changing that value from true to false, just as you mentioned.
swapped it, ran easy avr, and boom here we are!

I just wanted to thank you guys so very much.    :))

Ill get around to cleaning up the thread a bit and adding a little bit more anecdotal instruction this weekend.

Glad to hear it works but your e key is still broken :p

Right?  Is the E key broken now that all the rest are working?

Nope, all keys work. even the excellent, exuberant, and extravagant, E key.

No, it's broken! :))  The only way a key can work with that setting both ways is if it effectively has no diode...

Hold e and w then press d - pretty sure you'll get an s output?  It's that or one (or more) keys will become un-pressed, you might need switch hitter to see that.

Alternately you have a multimeter - just test that diode :)

Strange, I use switch hitter, holding e and w and press d and get d. I can hold down E and 10 other keys in switch hitter press any key and get the last key pressed correct output

Check the continuity and do post a photograph of the diode (Please mark it in the photo so it is easy to identify which diode is for the E key).

Its the one dead center. let me know if you need me to edit the photo to find it.

I still don't have the meter :/

Looks good to me, I have no idea how the E key was working.

Looks like the switch for the 4 key has a stray wire almost closing the circuit.

Mind if I jump in here with a (I think?) programming issue? Got a 40% I am working on and all the rows besides the top one are shifted to the left by one key. So if I hit 'a' it outputs 's'. As far as I can see everything seems to be correct, but I'm new at this so we all know that's not true! Just let me know if I should make a new post for this, but I figured I'd jump in instead of making a new one. Links to my wiring and keymap_common.h and matrix.c.

You only have one switch in the B1 column so you need a blank at the start of the other other rows if that's in the first column as in the pic. I'm on my phone so can't look but I think it's 'none' in TMK :)

Can you upload the zip on here as I can't access Dropbox at work, but I suspect the issue is related to what suicidal mentioned.

Sure! I'm at work so I wont be able to try anything until I get home.

You're using TMK, sorry, I thought you were using EasyAVR. I have no idea about TMK. Sorry for the trouble.

Weird, in the guide it said to leave the spaces blank, but I guess that's only when they aren't in the first column. I'll give this a shot when I get home from work, thanks!
