IBM 1397661 Keyboard. [SOLD]
« on: Tue, 21 July 2015, 00:46:28 »
This is a very interesting keyboard.  It came out on 8-11-92 and has the blue label on it.
Similar to the IBM 1370477 keyboard, however, it is the FIRST keyboard I have seen with a blue
label with NO drainage channels.
I almost want to get this thing.  I have too many.
I think it's a good find.

I hope someone from here snags it.

Edit: This would make a fine start to a Model M collector's fancy.  I believe it is relatively rare, as I have not even seen this model before.

Did I say the 1406?  Or the 1401?  This is pretty unique.  To be honest, I didn't think any USA Blue Labels had no drainage channels.  Interesting that you mention this.  I couldn't find any Blue Labels without drainage channels at all.  Even my nephew's 1401 has drainage channels and his was made 02-Jul-93.

Maybe it's different with the Greenrock boards.  This one is U.S.A.

Hey, that's great—you can pour a Coke from the '80s into it, and it won't get all over your desk. That'd be worth $100.

Too much Caffeine again Ander?  I tend to recall getting a keyboard like that before.  Let me see:

Not a good idea with any keyboard.

You're right—sorry. I meant a '90s Coke.

That was the NEW Coke.  We all knew how that turned out.

*Boy, was that something to read about!  It started in '85 and went through '92, essentially.  Of course, in Canada it was Coke II.  Wild.  Coke "Classic" had that label up until 2009!

Even so, I may grab this puppy if nobody else does.  I'm very tempted.

Nope, not me this time Ander.  I have too many as it is.  I just hope someone from here got it.
