Man this thing is looking beautiful!  I've been following your work for a while now, your Prodigy build from years ago is still one of my favorites.  It's cool to see you moving over and applying your skills to building boards now.  :thumb:

Hey! Wow. That was years ago. :)) 2013 I believe when I built it. Prodigy was actually my very first DIY/Modding project. :) Miss PC modding so much, but it is too much work. I do not have that much time anymore unlike before. Building keyboards requires less time and also less $$. In Cosmos' case tho, I can't say it is cheaper than PC modding since I do get some sponsors before on PC modding, but here, everything is on me. Thanks for following my work  :)

Great project, I have always wanted to create a custom keyboard myself in a specific theme. Absolutely loving the Gold/Purple.

We're almost there!  :thumb: Just desoldered these switches earlier. Board is pretty much usable now. Stainless steel insert and logo should be here by Jan 9-10. Still waiting for the anodizing shop to respond on my quote request. Once I received the other pieces, I'll bring them all to the shop to get anodized and gold plated. :)

Stainless steel weight and logo are almost done. It just needs some cleaning and then polishing. Still haven't received any replies from two shops that I emailed so I will start looking for another anodizing/plating shops around the area later. I also bought a custom cable for the board. A purple pexon cable.  The guy shipped it already so it should be here soon. So yeah the proj's almost done. All that is left is to get the pieces anodized/plated and for me to make artisan blanks which is the most time consuming part of this project.  :(

Please take note that this is just one unit shipped directly to me.  I can only imagine the process of GBs with hundreds of units to be made. In the case of prototypes tho, none of them should take months to be manufactured unless there are constant changes on the design. The shop where Cosmos was cncd has turn around of maximum 10 days for everything they do. The weights and logo even though they're smaller, took as much days as the alu/poly case because I asked them to polish the pieces before they ship it to me. I just received an email that they're being polished right now and that they'll ship the pieces on Monday which most likely will arrive on Tuesday or someday next week.  :thumb:

[Update]

Polished stainless steel weight insert and logo was shipped today. It should be here tmo. They're looking good in these photos, but I will still take some more photos of them on the board. I just sent the anodizing shop another email, hoping to get a response this time. I really want the board anodized asap. I will be working next on the cherry profile blanks once I find some free time.  :thumb:

Just want to share this pic of my Cherry profile blanks. Theses are Fns. It is a test run. Not so sure if they are okay at the bottom or not. I will have to redo the other molds for other keycap rows. I think it is looking great at this point. The colorway for the Cosmos is def a surprise.  :p

[Update]

Weight shipment is delayed. I don't think it will make it today. Casting mold for "A" row caps needs to be fixed. Everything else is fine.  :thumb: Still not getting any response from the shop. Will try to wait couple more days, if not, I'll look for another shops.

[Update]

Blanks are done. Called the shop earlier and they asked me to bring the pieces there so I could get a quote. Unfortunately, I can't drop it today so I'll just bring it there next week. The shop doesn't do gold plating so I'll have to look for another shop that does that.

[update]

Picked up the case this morning at the shop. Bottom pic shows the color of the case. It looks great in person. After putting every thing together, I think keeping the stainless steel as it is would probably go a lot better on the case compare to gold plated ones. Once I release the photos of the board, tomorrow night maybe, it would be nice to get your opinion on having the gold pieces gold plated or not. For now this project will remain WIP until I've decided on what to do with SS pieces.  :thumb:

Oh snap so does this mean you're not bringing it to the meetup this weekend?  Sadface, if so.  Also LOVE the color!  After the recent FJELL raffle (and me subsequently not getting in) I've been jonesing for some good purple/gold combos, so this is gonna take it to the next level I think if you end up doing it.  Dunno /shrug it's gonna look dynamite either way though.

I think polished works a lot better with that purple than gold would. That's beautiful.

Curious where you sourced your clear/gold stabilizers from and are they plate or pcb mount? I just pre-ordered from Zeal and they were very expensive.
