They are great except for one thing. The plate on a Topre Realforce lacks holes for the stems that hold stabilizer inserts on MX keycaps. That means drilling a pair of holes in the plate for every 2u (and larger) key position. Ugh.

Flaw in the design of what? Topre keycaps don't have stabilizer stems, so there is no need for holes to accommodate them in the plate. This only becomes a problem when you try to put MX keycaps onto a keyboard that was never intended for them.

If you're drilling into the plate at any point you're doing it wrong!

You just need holes in the plastic "stabilizer insert". Easily done by hand and completely harmless should you revert back to Topre sliders
