I liked it. Very story-heavy, but in a good way. Also a few decent laughs along the way, although that was obviously not the focus.

R&M episodes tend to vary a lot from episode to episode so there's no guarantee at all they're gonna keep doing it very story-focused, but this one does very much set up for future episodes.

Maybe they're reinventing themselves a bit. Or maybe not xD .

I hate how meta the show has become. I miss the first 2 seasons where all the episodes could stand on their own, and just the last one of the season was some meta continuation of plot.
This ****in' sucks now, the jokes and characters are stale, the plot's no longer surprising or interesting to me.
It's the same exact **** that happened to Adventure Time.

edit - I did really like the noise the walkie-talkies made in ep2, that was really funny

I'm two episodes behind as I was away for a bit, catching up now.

Ep 3 was boring, didn't really rate that one at all tbh.

The latest one was quite good, interesting premise. I'm assuming it's a reference to something I'm not familiar with?

If you are talking about the name of the episode, I think that "Bethic Twinstinct" is probably a play on the name of the movie "Basic Instinct" where a predatory woman played on a less aggressive man's weakness.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

No, I mean the plotline. I know Basic Instinct, I think it's underrated :D .

You know what I just learned? If you are a fan of Primal (if you're not, please go watch it;) the caveman from the Dexter's Lab episode "The Real Primal Theory Was The Friends We Made Along The Way" is canonically Spear, the caveman from Primal.

Oh, my mistake, you were talking about episode 4.

"Family Night" is a common term in the US, it refers to a time when the family has dinner together and then continues the communal experience by spending more time as a group. Nowadays it is usually watching TV, but it could be playing games, pursuing a family hobby, etc.

When I was growing up (more than half a century ago) that was the norm of activity on the majority of nights !

Today, considering the fact that families are splintered and we live our lives in greater isolation, a "Family Night" is likely to be rare or non-existant.

S06E04 depicted a family that was anything but loving and cohesive, enjoying shared bonding experiences.

Maybe the best episode this season.

The previous episode was like a Rick-and-Morty-fied version of the classic "Help, I'm stuck in a fortune cookie factory and can't get out" joke ...

episode 7 and 8,  hrrrm... it's getting a bit demanding in terms of making the audience draw more and more convoluted analogies/references.

good or bad,  don't know,  it's not boring, so that's good, but I wonder how much of this can be sustained because they're really scratching the edge now.

I liked the piss man one. The sun bros were kinda boring, and episode 7 legitimately made me angry with the way it was written and edited. Genuinely one of the most pompous pieces of commercial media I've ever watched. It was almost like torture, like being waterboarded by English lit majors.

will watch the most recent 3 tonight - report later

edit - I don't know, maybe I am getting weary of it all. An infinite level of manic craziness can't be maintained forever.

Maybe the only one I actually liked this season was the dinosaurs.

What, already done with the season? D:

Caught up with the last four episodes.

The first one was lame, Story Lord always feels like Justin and Dan whining about how hard it is to write and what their fans are complaining about.

The second one with the pissmaster was pretty decent I think. Not much to comment on mabe, but fun to watch.

Episode 9 with the sun cult was good, I liked it. Possibly the best of the last four. Reckon they could've squeezed a bit more out of the humour here, even. Pleasantly surprised to hear Mitchell and Webb make a cameo in there as well. The vat of acid reference at the end was brilliant, too xD .

10 with the lightsaber was interesting, although I've already seen this backstory in a Scrooge McDuck comic before. Not as grandiose as end-of-season episodes generally are, but the President is always a strong character.

Looking back on the whole season I can't really see any particular standouts tbh. Overall not a bad season perhaps, fun to watch, but I feel like S5 had more episodes you know you can fall back to.

think shall rewatch all 10, and reassess the mid season break really messed with the energy.
