Hello from Essex, UK
« on: Sat, 07 December 2019, 02:39:25 »
Hi.

I've found myself being drawn into the world of mechanical keyboards over the last couple of years. It started with a Kingston HyperX with Cherry MX Blue keys. This was too noisy for my colleagues so I bought a Kingston KyperX with Cherry MX Brown keys, which I modified with O-rings to make them even quieter. I can't quite decide which of the two I prefer.

Recently, having read about the joys of buckling spring keys, I bought a new Model M Classic from Unicomp, which I love, and only use at home!

I wanted to compare a modern Unicomp with an original Model M so I bought a 1988 Model M on eBay. I'll be posting a question about this soon.

Now I've just gone and ordered a Model F on eBay. I'm getting obsessed. Somebody needs to stop me!

Welcome!!

Always good to see another new face, especially in the vintage scene. The uk scene is growing hugely at the moment and it’s great to see more people joining.

There is a really active Uk community over on discord as well; with over 1k members; and we are also just about to announce our next UK meet-up which will be in London in Q1 2020.

Feel free to reach out and ask if you have any questions or otherwise :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll check out Discord when I have a few minutes to spare.
