At least you didn't say 11,5 stone.
-
If you turn the A/C off you might go bald and gain possibly unwanted superhuman abilities.
Do as you please at your own risk.

After I watched the anime..
Admitedly I was very pumped by the CONCEPT..
Then I turned off the AC for about 2 hours.. Then I made peace with the fact that I will not be getting super powers.

The air conditioning, I've discovered, makes me stay inside more. We live on the third floor of an old house so the heat rises to us and so we're constantly blasting the air. We've (or, rather, I've) become acclimated to the conditioned air, so I rarely go outside.
Incidentally, during the time we've been at this place, I've gained the most weight and have become the most tired. It's a combination of my poor sleeping habits as well, however, so I don't have the energy to be climbing the stairs each time I want to go out or stay in. So in I stay.
But with a toddler that's not a choice. Either constantly clean the place because of the disaster or go outside. :thinking-emoji:
My wife and I had a discussion the other day on whether the temperature has risen over the years because as kids we'd be fine with the temperature. Sure, we'd whine about being too hot or something, but it was never something we'd go to the edge about. Nowadays, I can't stand summers in Chicago, so I always suggest moving. It may be because I've become accustomed to the air conditioning now and don't want to live otherwise.

I don't remember ever complaining about temperature as a kid..
I was super skinny , vs how fat I am now..
So perhaps skinny body's ability to dissipate heat, Ontop of general childhood neglect of personal comfort, lead to total ignorance of high temperatures....
But anytime I get hit with 80+ now.... (http://img.emoticonplus.com/nwde8.gif)

Heating has the same effect.
Back when, there was less heating so people tended to move around more to keep warm, and thus burned off any excess fat.
These days the whole house is generally heated, so people just sit around doing not much all the time and the fat builds up.
-
I don't think so. after all, the air conditioner provides us with comfort, thanks to the air conditioner, we are happy to be in the apartment.

Countries (in red) that have not adopted metric measurements:
Actually the US is way more metric than people realize, it's just not official, obvious, or even sanctioned.
We snuck it in when no one was looking.

But don't you guys know 'Murica is riding an unstoppable speed train toward destiny and no socialist commies with their maternity leaves, their free healthcares or their snowflake metric systems are gonna stop us? :p
-
Yup we're stuck using Freedom units for measurement, even though I confuse the crap out of co-workers when I use Metric measurements and have all clocks set in 24hr format lol.

Pretty much what you guys are saying. I'm trying to walk all the time instead of watching tv/poking at the computer at home. Also trying never eat out. Losing weight as you get older is unmercifully slow.
