Summary of how things have gone with the buy:

Show Image

Quite possibly the funniest gif I have ever seen.

I stilol have no Idea why the didn't ship any orders that could have been shipped earlier. Instead of waiting on 1 item that has hung the whole GB. It's taken so long that I'm debating just selling my stuff once it comes in and getting something else entirely.

I think the title needs to be updated since the stabilizers have arrived.

And TJ, can we please get some plan of attack and/or timeline?  If you're swamped, how about a sorting day and see if some more local GHers could help?  I know I would if I were in Texas still.  Right now it only seems like updates come when there's an explosion snd, even then, there aren't always updates.

idd, rip-off arseholes  :(

It does suck, but I don't feel horrible about it given that WFD ripped off a few people here before disappearing.

I was wondering is this GH60 PCB.revB the final layout? Or is there another rev around?
Is it possible to see the changes and how this looks?
And is it possible or allowed to use these designs for my own purpose? As I can etch them at work (I dunno if this is the correct term here). I'm thinking of trying to create my own 60% board from ground up and learn soldering, wiring, putting switches on and stuff like that. And BlueBär recommended me this PCB design for my project.

Rev. C is the final and word is it isn't being released until after the GH60 GB ends.

In other words, don't expect to be able to do anything with it until 2020.  You're better off seeing if you could do a run of the FaceW/FaceU or Hasu's Alps board he just did.

The rev. B files works if you don't want to wait for this buy to be completed. I made a rev. B PCB at my university, works great. I got some missing holes in the drill-files in the fabrication outputs that is on komars blog, but otherwise it was fine.

Ja man, unfortunately it seems that way. At that time I'll be too old for dis. I'll look into FaceW/FaceU/Hasu PCBs.

As I'm fairly new to all this soldering and stuff, whats the main difference between rev.B and rev.C?
Thank you for that link, I'll look into it and get a friend who understands those schematics better than me and can help me.

I've had 2 faceU boards and still have a faceW, the only issue I've had is the board not being detected by some BIOS versions but aside that there are no issues. Perfectly working boards, the faceW is one of my favorites. The faceU were chinese knock-offs and even those didn't had any issues aside poor manufacture quality compared to the ones made in Korea, and the boards were still a beauty and worked flawless.

One more note, if you want to make faceU/faceW PCB's you have to buy to rights to do that from BeastMask the developer of the boards (winkeyless.kr).

Rev B. works fine, I'm typing on one right now. If I remember correctly there is a diode somewhere on the board that is back to front but apart from that it's awesome.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Ever? Perchance. Does it really matter at this point? We'll never get our money back, and we'll not get our orders until TJ or whom the **** ever figures out what to do.

What's incredibly frustrating is sitting here realizing that a person has made up excuses for themselves for why it's OK to act this way. It's even more frustrating to know that there are people that support these excuses simply because this is "volunteered" work. Well if you didn't have the time or aren't able to do the work for whatever reason then FIX THE PROBLEM. It's been MONTHS of time passed with no real work done to the group buy.

It would almost be easier to just say "I lost all the stuff, and I'm sorry, but you're not getting your GH60s, switches or stabs. Pay no mind to the classifieds where I'm selling all these things. They are not related". Based on the reasoning of people defending TJ it wouldn't really matter because it wasn't really his group buy to begin with.

So it doesn't really matter if you're frustrated with the buy or if you're fine with it. In the end we all still have to wait and see.

/rant ;)

Yeah, it should read GH60 Group Buy - ETA whenever the **** I feel like it, now shut up and don't rock the boat because I "volunteered".

What I want to know is how people can keep defending this when everything has been in hand for a month and, before that, there was a year where prep work or shipping without stabilizers could have happened.  Multiple solutions have been offered and the simple request for photos or a timeline were met with non-answers lashing out against those who would dare question things.

And watch, since **** is kicking up again, TJ will appear, lash out against people, and continue to not give an answer because we don't deserve one, he doesn't feel like it, or some other BS answer.  All we want is an update and timeline, but apparently that's like asking a politician to be honest.

Wasn't tj collecting money for this GB from the start?
I don't undestand how he volunteered to get this done, maybe I missed something.
This board was supposed to be my first and only custom since I'm a student and I don't have money to spend on more than one keyboard at a time but it's really frustrating to be still waiting for this after 2 years.
I get that people disappearing from GH contributed a lot to the delay but I don't understand how is it possible to keep delaying things because there's no time.
How can someone not be able to log in for 2 minutes in a day to give a status update or to dedicate 1 hour a day to get things going especially since you're holding other people's money..
I may be saying this because I'm a student and I have some free time but I don't find it to be unreasonable to dedicate some of your daily time to this, especially because it's something that people payed for.

He was originally one of (I believe) four or five people helping with this group buy.  His role was far more minimal than it currently is.  He did collect the money, but was not going to do any shipping, AFAIK (maybe he was going to do some assembly?).  When people talk about him volunteering, it's volunteering to take over every aspect of the group buy (aside from EU-specific tasks).

Okay, let's try this.

I'm available at taking over the GB. For this purpose I would pay at my expenses shipping of all the material from where it is now to my place (please note that I'm from Italy, Europe). I believe (hope) after many years on GH you could call me a "trusted member of the community".

I would expect that money for shipping would be transferred to my paypal account.

I would also appreciate donations to cover the expenses (especially packaging). Donors would be put at the top of the queue, entity of the donation does not matter (ie: bigger donations don't grant you a higher priority).

If anyone requested assembly he/she could: a) give up assembly and get the raw material; b) wait at the end of the queue

As soon as I get the material, I'm also available at handling multiple proxies if other volunteers show up.

Why not sort some of this out at keycon? I am sure people would be willing to sort and box items? Is anyone near TJ that could bring the materials to keycon?

I've suggested sorting parties like have been done with group buys in the past.  Nearly every suggestion by people have gone ignored.

I'm happy to donate for someone else to pick this up, something needs to be done to get this sorted, so long as its not another **** up or abandonment!

I might also consider donations if Matt3o picks it up.

At this point I really want the switches and universal plates I ordered, more then the PCB's because this design has already been out done by GON and many other Korean PCB's.

I am tired of begging.

If and when I receive my parts on my doorstep,  Then that will be a unexpected pleasure.

If these parts have to be sent to italy and extra fees apply then I would be glad to donate to the cause. Just please let this insanity end.
