So sorry for the delay guys, but I'm happy to report that I've sent out all of the confirmation e-mails for the orders that I am proxying.  :thumb:

Only 5 bounce backs for the 52 orders that I have, so I sent a follow-up PM.

------------------------------------
Next Steps (for me)
------------------------------------
Samwisekoi is waiting on me to confirm a few numbers which I'll do tomorrow. I just wanted to get the conformation e-mails out first in case I overlooked something.

Thank you!

Just to be clear on what to expect, as an "international", I have to pay again for shipping and assembly, correct?

ill assembly international orders for free

Thank you a lot. That is incredibly nice of you. Those of us with a tighter budget are sure to appreciate it. But what about shipping costs?

Is there a list of lists?  That is, do we have a list of users/orders per stand-in proxy?

 - Ron | samwisekoi

Yes there is! And some of these have changed, for example if you are in this list and are international your proxy is bunnylake, we are only handling  USA and Canada.

PLEASE do not contact your proxy YET! They will let you know when they are ready.

If you are not in the list you better contact me ASAP instead.

EU and International orders are all through BunnyLake

I think he's referring to the fact that he's listed twice under your name (3rd from the top, 3rd from the bottom)

Hi everyone,

First, I would like to thank people who take care of us by joining this GB as proxy.

I would love to get an "ISO 1.5x with short R-shift" plate (I initialy ordered an ISO 1.25 plate but taste change with time...)

If someone willing to trade or sell this plate I will be glad to take it but if not, is there a way to get the file of this plate and made it cut ?

I know I could buy universal ISO plate easily but I am looking for costar stabs.

Thanks for your help.

Mad Props to all involved in getting this to some sort of completion!  :thumb:

Whats the status with the plates for EU orders?

I read through the OP edit and poked around in the last few pages but didn't find an answer.

Will I get an email/PM when I have to pay the shipping fee?

Do we have any timescales? The shipping expected to take a month or so or a few days and are we looking at extra cost?

I bought the version that Techkeys is selling and it's awesome

pics incoming.

My point is I'll volunteer to do the soldering for anyone who needs it done. I am new so I am in the process of taking pics of all my recent work and current work so you can see my quality. I'm located in the Bay Area and all I ask for is to pay for shipping

@hoffmanmyster is your proxy, I know he's been derailed by work and real life lately but he will be contacting you to confirm your shipping info and explain what the plan is if he hasn't already.

TL;DR: samwisekoi has the goods is sorting them and when your proxy gets your things he will invoice you for shipping.

Counting scale ordered for this weekend.  Assuming nothing goes wrong, I should be able to count 20,000 keycaps into proxy-sized shipments this weekend.  Hopefully the DIY kits as well, although those are still an unclear PITA.

Regarding Europe, I will contribute postage for a bulk shipment to BunnyLake, but I don't yet have the details for that shipment.  I DO know what the US proxies want.

So: shipments to US-based proxies should go out next week.  Timeline for bulk shipment to Europe remains TBD.

 - Ron | samwisekoi

p.s. As soon as I typed the message above, I saw another request for change had been posted.  Any change to the proxy counts I have today will cause this whole thing to slip by at least a week.  Renting the counting scale will cost me around $300 USD, so I only am going to do that once!

Ron, for some reason I thought that the DIY PCB kits we ordered were converted to assembled PCBs, due to volume discounts. Is that not the case?

Yes, if people want to swap/sell orders I will just handle that on my end.

If someone from mashby or Ray's list chooses to take over an additional order from my list, I presume shipping costs will just be eaten.  Changing counts at this point is fairly unreasonable.

^ This.

dgneo, I am happy to help.  I've been waiting on three myself for all this time.  And now that they are here, I am also waiting for everyone else to get theirs before I build mine!

jdcarpe, I don't know about that, but I do know that I (a) have the DIY components and bare PCBs, and (b) I do not have enough assembled PCBs to cover the DIY orders.

Switch Counting Day Update and Question

I'm in the office on a Saturday counting and packing GH60 switches.  As of this moment (11:46am my time) I have all the switches counted and packed for the US proxies EXCEPT MX Whites and Clears.  That is the good news.

The bad news is that during the endless months and hand-offs from person to person this project has undergone, I have fewer MX White and MX Clear switches than are required by the orders the US proxies are going to try to fill.  I am very slightly short on Clear switches, but very short on Whites.  Probably 5-7 keyboards worth.

I have a few options:

1. I could ship what I have, leaving the proxies unable to fill some orders.

2. I could wait until someone who isn't me locates the missing switches, if they exist anywhere.  This delays everyone's orders further.

3. I could fill the gaps with the closest available switch types.  Probably Browns for missing Clears and Greens for missing Whites.

4. I could ship everything except Whites and Clears; the proxies could ask everyone who wants those switches what they would accept as a substitution, and I could ship the balance of the switches as soon as that was decided.

5. Something else I haven't thought of.

Since everyone wants their order, my inclination is to go with option #4 so that the majority of orders can be filled sooner rather than later.  I think getting some of the orders out is better than getting none of the orders out.

For now, I will go count stabilizers (yay!) and then check back here to see if anyone has replied with a brilliant suggestion.  If not, I will proceed with option #4.

TL;DR We don't have enough White and Clear switches. If this affects you, please reply here with a suggestion.

In other news:

Non-US Orders:  Neither Bunnylake nor I have details about what I should send him.  Both of us are willing to get these shipments under way, but we don't know enough to do so.  If this annoys you, please yell at someone who isn't me, Bunnylake, or Matt3o.

DIY Kits:  I have all of the tiny parts, but I am not at all certain what I should do with them.  In particular, the controllers probably require special handling.  I purchased anti-static bags, but I am not sure if that is sufficient.  Also, the best guess I have so far is to use the BOM from WFD for the kits, and who knows if that is correct!

That is all of the news from GH60 - Salvage Mode Central for the moment.

Cheers!

All I ordered was whites and clears......

If i need to, I can procure my own switches, although i'd prefer not to.

Non-US Orders:  Neither Bunnylake nor I have details about what I should send him.  Both of us are willing to get these shipments under way, but we don't know enough to do so.  If this annoys you, please yell at someone who isn't me, Bunnylake, or Matt3o.

I see. Is there anything that can be done to figure out what needs to be transferred to Bunnylake? Because it sounds like non-US orders are effectively blocked indefinitely.

We are trying to figure out how to figure that out.  I believe Bunnylake has your PCBs, so I may just ship all the "extra" plates to the UK.  That would be expensive, but it would at least get them to the right side of the planet.

Europe Shipment Update

Overnight, Matt3o worked to provide me with an "estimated" listing of the plates, stabilizers, and switches to send to Europe.  That enables me to pull and pack a shipment for Europe.

Plates:
ANSI Univ. 46
ISO Univ. 19
Poker 36
Pure 12
ANSI 1.5x 13
ANSI 1.5x pure shift 11
ISO 1.25 29
ISO 1.5 9
ISO 1.5 pure shift 7
Samwisekoi 3
GH60 15

Stabilizer Sets:
90 Cherry PCB mount kits 6.25
45 Cherry PCB mount kits 7
100 Cherry Plate kit 6.25
55 Cherry Plate kit 7

Switches:
240 MX black

I'll get these packed and begin the search for a reasonable price to ship small, heavy plates to the UK.

FYI to all,

WEEKEND UPDATE

All four proxy orders are picked and packed.
The only things not ready to go are the White switches and the DIY kits.  We were a tiny bit short on Clears, but only a tiny bit.

For Europe, we did not have enough of each item to hit Matt3o's estimates.  We were short on a couple of plates and had extras of a few others.  Oddly, we didn't have enough of the dang tiny screws Cherry now uses on PCB-mount stabilizers.  We had many hundreds, but not quite enough hundreds of them.  Anyhow, the Europe pick list was an estimate, so I'll send the exact counts to Bunnylake while I figure out how to ship 20 Kg of plates to the UK for re-distribution.

During the week I will figure out what combination of UPS and USPS will be best for the CONUS shipments.  Once I know that I will get those out of my office and on their way to the next level down in the pyramid.

One final note: if someone wants to be in charge of the DIY kits, please contact me.

Cheers to all of you!

Should I have expected an email by this point from HoffmanMyster?

I've been out of the loop for the past year.

I honestly don't really even want my order any more, but I can appreciate what everyone's gone through so I'll just keep it to not complicate things.  I'll sell it off later if I want.

I managed to get some messages out, but not all.  I'm setting up right now to crank out a few more this evening.  I'm really sorry for the delays on my end, everyone.
