Also, much of this is being sourced/manufactured in China, as you might imagine. We are still in the process of getting prices locked in for everything. The good news for you guys is that we are trying out best to save everyone money where we can. Invoicing can't happen until we know for certain what all the prices are. We had no way of knowing when this GB began that we would be placing an order for over 700 PCBs. But it's a nice surprise, to be sure. :D

hmmm. 700 is awesome. way to go guys. JD if you dont mind me asking how many did you think we would order? 500? 250?

Congrats guys!

Now the problem is: Where can we get key caps for a GH60 max layout? I would so love a nice, complete set for it. But I haven't even seen that 1.25x enter key before. What are you guys gonna go for?

GMK does have row C 1.25 I think as Cherry had some boards with it way back... Even if made a bizzaro pack with blank keys for use on some less popular boards that need unusual things like the C row 1.25, E row 1.5 I am not sure it would make it. I guess we can find out when run GMK round2 IC.

Has any of you come across a PBT set for a poker layout? I'd like thick PBT, blank, not sure about the colour yet. Depends on the case, too.

If you want thick PBT, you're going to have to buy a 105 set from Imsto or look for a 105/TKL Imsto set in the classifieds.

Other than that, Ducky will supposedly be selling thick PBT caps, but they're oem profile and will probably only come in 104/105 sets.

Yes it's Imsto's stuff. The first two are thick PBT, while the third is Cherry ABS double shot caps. The last is also Thick PBT (blue if you read description), but I had no idea he sold sets of 61.

So every set will be white/beige, meaning no all white sets? I'm guessing you're doing this due to the last GB being all white, which makes sense.

Yesssssss, any chance there will ever be gray/ charcoal blank IMSTOs?

You can get gray blanks from Imsto. If you want something darker, Ivan said he might be doing a dark charcoal for a GB later this summer

Where were the Ovilettis from? Was that a GH GB?

Sherryton/Korean GB (I'm not 100% sure about the Korean bit, but KBDMOD has or will have them in stock soon)

Olivetti is from originative, and as far as I can tell everyone else that has them got them though originative too. The weird tab keys gives it away, as no one else with any sense would pick that awful tab legend.

Personally I think you and Komar should team up for a Polish/USA custom keyboard company!  Also please hire Beast and WFD to mass produce gorgeous wood and aluminum cases and just to have them around. those dudes have ideas.

i heard the originative dns listing is available! BAZINGA!

If anyone needs to drop a pure plate, my friend recently (today) got into the mech keyboard game and wants to snag a plate for it while they're available. He won't be too bummed if he doesn't get it because he understands the deadline passed. But just a thought.

Noticed my order hasn't been updated yet? I submitted a change over a week ago (before the close im sure). Can't remember what was in the update, but i think i wanted to change costar to cherry stabs due to the 7x spacebar wire being unavailable. Also change the ISO 1.5x pure shift plate to the short right shift version.

"pure shift" is the short R-shift, so these mean the same thing.

er, on the original page, the plates show one with a short shift (ISO 1.5x with short R-shift - full 1.5x mod, WKL, or HHKB) and the other with a full size shift? How are they the same thing? Am I getting confused?

A "pure" shift is a short 1.75x right shift. The longer right shift would be like on a Poker keyboard (or most other ANSI keyboards). So if you have ordered a "pure" shift and want a short right shift, you should be good to go.

It's marked as a short right shift on the original post, sorry I think the confusion is i want the short right shift with the x1 key to the right of the shift which is a different plate.

I just checked the order spreadsheet, and this is what you have. It's called "ISO 1.5x (pure shift) plate" on the order form. Have you down for 1 of those plates, along with the rest of your order.

"Pure shift" means it has the shift from the KBT Pure. Which is the short right shift with a 1x key to the right of it. Not "pure" as in "purity" or something.

Small update: I've confirmed that the DIY kit is now $15, down from $22. The PCB is almost complete, but there is a last minute change to the USB connector because the fab is unable to source our current one intended for the PCB. A few more days for this.

In the meantime, a lot of people need to look at your orders for stabilizers before I finish tallying them:

Yellow = your stabilizer order is not counted yet, either because 1) you need to specify plate-mounted or PCB-mounted for cherry stabilizers, 2) you need to specify wire size, 3) specify costar or cherry.
orange = your stabilizer order was counted, but there are discrepancies with the plate matching the stabs.

Order confirmation

I've spent over 3 hours adding them up already, but I cannot spot-check hundreds of orders. After a couple days, I will make an educated assumption, or just default these orders to cherry PCB-mounted stabs with 6.25x wires. Please check over your order again, even if I didn't mark it. Submit an order change and write "stabilizer" in the "what you want to change" section, and put in your new stabilizer order in the last section.

Order Changes

Just to reiterate again: Universal plates must use cherry PCB-mounted stabilizers. Costar stabilizers are not currently not available in 7x sizes. Here are the plates that fit each wire size:

6.25x
  • ANSI 1.25x
  • ANSI 1.25x with short R-Shift
  • ISO 1.25x
  • Samwisekoi
  • GH60
  • Universal ANSI
  • Universal ISO

7x

  • ANSI 1.5x
  • ANSI 1.5x with short R-shift
  • ANSI 1.5x with short R-shift and split backspace
  • ISO 1.5x with short R-shift
  • Universal ANSI
  • Universal ISO
  • Universal 10x spacebar

Fill in the order change request. But at some point, we need to cut off all changes, otherwise we'll never get to invoicing. I also need to submit the exact plate numbers to get official quotes, so if you want to make order changes to plates, do it now. Stabilizers has a longer window because these do not require exact amounts.
