I got a lot of PMs, mostly on order changes. I suppose you can still change orders (just fill it out HERE instead of PMing me), but once you've been invoiced, there will no more changes. We need stable numbers for quotes and invoicing.

Oooh - didn't realise final tweaks were still allowed.  In that case I've submitted a small change (one more PCB with SMD presoldered).

Thanks

George

How is the status on Clear Switches? Especially for EU Orders - will you order them via 7bit, or do I have to do something?

If they aren't available then Pexon is running a groupbuy for them right now

Yes, but those are plate mount. I know they'll work fine, but it's not as ideal imo.

Good point...  I forgot about that (mainly as I have a load of PCB mount housings that I could swap them with!)

Please at least add some sort of a hard board when shipping Plates. Thick cardboards are useless.
The ones used by Beast for the Poker plates are great.

I previously had a shipment of a single Phantom plate with just bubble wrap, the condition it arrived in was ridiculous, and the Phantom GB organizers had to ship me another one.

It will definitely add weight to the shipment, but who wants a damaged plate?

Does it matter if switches are pcb or plate mounted if you are using a plate though?

You have to remove two pins if you want to use a pcb mount switch to a plate.

It's not of great importance. Though some people prefer to use PCB mount with a plate if the PCB permits both.

Depends on the case. If you're using a plate from this groupbuy then you'd be best off using pcb since the plate isn't actually attached to anything. It's held in position by the switches. If you're using a user-designed case that comes with a custom plate that is screwed into the case then you won't need pcb mount switches.

Nope. You can use either with a plate.

it is better to use them for the modifiers but you have to use pcb mount stabs with the uni plates.

Here is hoping that my poker 2 with browns arrives before my invoice. Want to try browns out on a board before I commit to them.
The sample set from WASD did not really do much for me. I've only tried blacks, but I really enjoy them.

I stand corrected. It was also said that pcb mounted switches + plate make the structure very solid.

It's cheap, and delivery people *do* pay attention that those most of the time.

This looks like the original black aluminum plates. Aluminum isn't as strong as stainless steel like the ones in this GB.

Btw, I received a prototype of the universal plate, pics will come soonish.

Does it matter if switches are pcb or plate mounted if you are using a plate though?
You have to remove two pins if you want to use a pcb mount switch to a plate.

That only applies to PCBs that do not have proper holes for the pins, but not in this case. It's not a huge deal, but I recommend using PCB-mounted switches. Those two plastic pins provide a rock-solid mount of the switches, even though there's already a plate. It might a few extra minutes to install PCB-mounted switches, but you're only building this once so might as well take the extra step.

Depends on the case. If you're using a plate from this groupbuy then you'd be best off using pcb since the plate isn't actually attached to anything. It's held in position by the switches. If you're using a user-designed case that comes with a custom plate that is screwed into the case then you won't need pcb mount switches.

No, it makes no difference. Use PCB-mounted switches either way. If you have a custom-designed case where the plate is mounted into the case, then it still must hold up the PCB, only attached by the switches. If you're using the original plastic poker case, the PCB is mounted onto the case, and the plate is still held up by at the switches.

Prototype plate came bent like a banana. Beast's signature bent plate from his source, in comparison to a phantom plate I got made from a local company.

But nothing 5 minutes of unbending can't fix.

This is just a prototype plate that Beast help cut. But the final run will be from my own local company. The cut quality is better, and it's not bent, so ready to be soldered. I'd be crazy if I spent 5-10 min to unbend 550 plates before shipping. Refer to here for quality differences:

@wfd,

They are indeed aluminum plated from the 1st GB.
Bending them back into shape did not work.

I sincerely hope the steel are strong enough.
That being said, my order is probably going into a box anyway. That should be good enough for me.

^ Sorry, it looks like the cells shifted but the highlight was still there. Basically every column was off by one. Your order is correct. I went back to clear all highlights since I have to go back and retally all the stabs.

Any old highlights means that the stabilizers were not ordered correctly, or it doesn't match the plate. There are quite a few of these, so at this point I'm just going to use my best judgement to change incorrect stabilizer orders.

Again, here are stabilizer conditions:

- you must specify stab type (PCB-mounted cherry, plate-mounted cherry, or Costar), and spacebar wire size (6.25x or 7x)
- universal plate must use PCB-mounted cherry. They can use 6.25x or 7x spacebars wires
- any 1.5x plates must use 7x spacebar wires
- any 1.25x plates must use 6.25x spacebar wires
- costar stabs do not come in 7x wire size

Now i understand, you probably mean the bump in the wire that goes around the switch.
I found this mashby photo on the internet: here the bump is very wide, so that should allow various switch positions.
