Hey guys!

Hey all! New to this forum, I've been a long time lurker of /r/MechanicalKeyboards, but really wanted to interact more with the Mechanical Keyboard community without posting a picture of my board... Still love the site though and I'm growing to love this one as well! I currently have a Razer BlackWidow Chroma which I'm trying to sell in order to buy a NovaTouch TKL (oneness with cup rubber) and I also scored a brand new 1997 IBM Model M off a guy on reddit. Sort of new to the club but I'm definetly loving it. Hope I could have some fun on this site! (P.S. My eyes bled for a good 10 minutes while I tried to find the option to change the theme  ;) )

Welcome to geekhack!
Which Model M did you get?  There are quite a few different models.

Welcome to Geekhack!

You already have (or soon will have) experience of a fairly wide range of switches!

Nostalgia used to be the default theme, there was a lot of discussion when the default was changed to something a bit lighter :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
