Any advice on making a case ... (for Soarer converter)?
« on: Fri, 06 June 2014, 01:07:51 »
I'd really like to make a case for my converter, as I've seen some really nice ones and I don't like having the converter exposed. Any advice on how to build one? Tools, materials, process, etc.

I did this one last week, and it works great but is pretty garish.

Having bought a lot of cheap parts from China, I have had a lot of problems with project boxes, for some reason. I have been waiting 2 months for one, that is why I gave up and did it in a blue junction box from Home Depot.

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

If you can get it, the clear plastic box that an iPod nano comes in.
Should be easy to cut in, but do be careful when drilling so it does not crack - start with a drill bit for wood and continue with progressively larger bits.
Should be high enough for a panel-mounted PS/2 port.

Or solder it together well, use heat shrink tubing and electrical tape, and enclose everything in Sugru. ;)
