White ISO backlit keycaps
« on: Mon, 08 August 2016, 18:57:45 »
Hi,
I am in search of white keycaps with ISO layout for backlit keyboards.
I can't find them anywhere in the entire world.

Do they exist?

Thanks in advance.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Ducky made some, apparently:

https://www.inet.se/produkt/6607453/ducky-shine4-key-cap-109-abs-set-white/#specs

Although discontinued according to this link:

https://www.cclonline.com/product/172590/S9C6-L109-UKALW/Keyboard-Accessories/Ducky-Shine-4-ABS-Backlight-Compatible-Keycaps-White-UK/KBD0943/?siteID=TnL5HPStwNw-ICAPleWHMZN4xX5UKAMFLQ

That set would have been perfect! Ducky still sells keyboards with ISO layout so I can't understand why they discontinued white keycaps.

PBT double shots however the font isn't the best.
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/104-PBT-double-shot-injection-backlighting-through-shine-ISO-keycap-LED-translucent-mechanical-legend-IKBC-DUCKY/32604542897.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.180.tj7mM1&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_0,searchweb201602_5_10057_10056_10055_10049_10059_10058_10017_10060_10061_10062_10063_412_10064,searchweb201603_7&btsid=e5bf0ea1-55d3-414c-bf4a-7d84294f08e1

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but this set is 104 ANSI, not ISO.

Ducky have/sells a White keycaps set, the only problem is the layout, it is  ANSI.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1579

I have this set on my ANSI Ducky One RGB YOTG k-board.

Here in sweden we have only one shop left that sells some ISO/Nordic keycaps from WASD and they have a Red  ISO/Nordic set from Ducky and had a White ISO/Nordic set from Ducky.
Only 2 problems here: not in stock and they only sell/ship in sweden.

http://www.maxgaming.se/keycaps/ducky/s4-keycap-109-set-white

Inet.se don't sell any keycaps sets anymore.

The best thing I did was when I bought my first ANSI k-board some years ago, no more problems to find keycaps sets.

I'm not usin my ISO k-boards anymore.

Edit: 2 bad pictures of the White keycaps set with the Ducky One RGB LEDs on.

Thanks for the information seville57, we are on the same boat, but I disagree with your choice.
I have been writing with a ISO keyboard for almost 20 years, so there is no way I should force myself to adapt my writing with an ANSI keyboard.

Funny fact is that there are more than 150 million ISO keyboards around the Europe, but no company seems to know this obvious statistic.

Bums, as a non ISO user I didn't notice the difference.  Sorry, that's the closest/only set I know of that isn't discontinued.

No problem, thanks for the suggestion anyway.  :thumb:

Hey pon10, I found something!!  :thumb:

I contacted Kent from MaxKeyboard and he told me they have a set of "Ivory" White keycaps with ISO layout that is not listed in their website yet.
You can choose between: Russian, Belgian, Danish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss and UK of course.
The spacebar though is available only in 6 or 6,25 (6,5 spacebar is not backlight and has a brighter white).

If you and other users are interested you can contact Kent at kent@maxkeyboard.com

Here are some pictures he send me via email. (This is ANSI but he assured me that ISO is available)

Phenix, I am not sure if they are PBT. I forgot to ask him.  ^-^
Anyway, if you are interested you can email Kent for that information.  :thumb:
