Maybe I'm confused here but I don't recall Elite sending out any emails or advertising (in any way) that there was going to be any sort of Click Clack sale coming? Just s simple update on their site with no date given. Why are people upset again?

EK has posted a couple of timec confirming the pending sale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

And then some people will probably get an email and buy keys, while mysteriously some will not get emails and completely miss out. The "fair" system was 10% more people would actually be sent emails but only if you moved to "real customer" status  :p

So did people hitting F5 just discover this or did anyone get an email? Because I didn't get any email, nor did I get one for entering into the drawing even though it said one was sent. Not in the spam folder either *sigh*

My trusty robot that's been watching this page for the last week saw the page updated at approx. 0:15 GMT.

Had no email alert or confirmation mail after successful draw registration so far. UPDATE: 4 mails confirming successful draw entry have just come through!

Good luck everyone!

so did you just get four keys, I don't get it LOL

So it's one entry per key per person and the drawing has already started even though the entries don't close for another 2 days, is that right?

edit: nvm I misread, you got confirmation of draw entry

Good luck y'all :)

It states "This drawing is for one of several CF-5T-OKT." etc... so I presume it's one entry per key.

I did all four Topres, leaving the MXs for some other lucky person, I guess you could enter for a total of 8 Clacks is so desired.

Well at least we know that the caps won't be available for purchasing until the drawing is over. My F5 can rest.

I'm somewhat confused (it's late here in the UK!) It seems that on re-reading of the rules that only one entry per cap is valid:

Quote
1. One drawing entry per person. Efforts to "game" the system will likely be noticed and disqualified (as will any other entries to other drawings that we can reasonably tie to that person for the foreseeable future.).

I'm Curious to hear how other people interpret this. Could be clearer, might have disqualified myself already, ha!

This is fair, this is good.  Everyone has the same chance.  It is not biased due to timezone or proximity to an email server.  It is not who can press F5 the quickest.

And I think the answer to the last FAQ really says it all, from CC's perspective and EK's: "Clack Factory keycaps are very limited works of art, and it's the Clack Factory's wish that these not just be sold to the highest bidder (or fastest clicker)."

I believe they mean multiple same drawings for the same item, considering each entry has an SKU.

Yes for each cap ;)
If you look carefully, there's a different "iD" number for each cap, meaning they aren't related in the one keycap limitation. So that's really one per keycap.

I'm half hoping EK is able to share the demand with clack factory and convince him to start producing greater numbers of keys. What percentage of the community that wants CCs do you think is actually able to get something? My guess is 10-15%, maybe even less taking my personal history of attempts into account. I do think the percentage of the community willing to spend $100 per cap is probably at 50-65% though.

$100 a pop seems pretty high, even taking into account that they're CC's.
