Edit: YOLO, submitted anyway. Considering how popular Duck boards are, and no one says anything about the slope, I figure it isn't an issue. I prefer OEM height over Cherry height, anyway.

Yeah, confusing video. He runs his fingernails over it, which leaves a layer of fingernail on the surface. Effectively, the surface of the board is sanding his nail (as it is harder than a finger nail). This happens now if you do it on most boards. I accidentally do it on my black eagle all the time. It just wipes off. You're not actually scratching the anodization.

The trouble people generally have with Gray anno is streaking. This is the real 'risk' of the color, but I would trust that Duck wouldn't send out poorly anodized products.

I believe it's the consistency of the colour. It is very hard for the anodizing manufacturer to get the colours to the same gray quality Duck wants.  So there may be some inconsistency, but Duck/Truecustom will try their best, but they cannot guarantee it.  It has nothing to do with the case quality, only the colour is the issue.

It may be a bit late, but I stopped invoicing those that chose gray as their case colour.  I will only invoice after you accept that I can't guarantee the anodizing quality of gray.

The group buy closed quite some time ago and production of the boards has finished.

The boards are currently being prepared for shipping and address changes are not allowed anymore.

I would recommend watching this thread and the trade market, after people start receiving their octagons to find someone selling aftermarket.

Is it necessary to do a group buy? I was sent the dwg file for the octagon weights from some of the octagon owners in korea and they suggested just getting the external weight 3d printed.

Just flashed Duck Octagon PCB via QMK. Everything is fine except media keys (vol+, vol-, mute)... they are not working at all. Does anyone got a clue how to fix this?

I'm trying to figure out which is the flip key, "End" isn't putting me into the bootloader for some reason.

Try Tab or ESC? I think it's one of those for BMC, so it might work for O2D. I'm kind of inept with O2D, though.

Hey Guys,

i just assembled my Octagon today and flashed it using QMK. It works great except for the two buttons on the bottom right above the right arrow key. I can't seem to map them to anything using qmk. Do you have any tips on how to debug?

So I flashed with qmk since I wanted to map some extra F13-F22 function keys on layers and now certain effect LEDs I had installed on the board don't light - like the caps lock etc. The SMDs that come with the board as well as neutral white LEDs I installed with the alphas do light up however, just the caps lock as well as the mod non alphas keys do not. Can someone help?

Does o2d support extended function keys as well as LCA/META commands or layers? Just know how to use qmk, and glancing at o2d I did not see the F13-22 option so that was a no go at first glance, if it does allow that I will try it o2d

Maybe I can forward to a kind person my qmk layout doc and they can map me a hex firmware in o2d?

EDIT: looks like o2d allows "DM" macro keys, so probably it would work to do DM1-12 and just map F13-24 onto those dm keys from a different keyboard. Right?

My double sided tape was a bit thick at .6mm, and now my weight protrudes a bit.  And I can't get it off.  Oh well I guess.  Doesn't really have too much, if any negative impact.  There's like .5mm clearance between the desk surface and the protruding weight. Guess I'll just have to be careful when handling.  My Octagon is a heavy beast now though.
