Cherry Profile keycaps
« on: Thu, 29 October 2015, 19:07:47 »
Hi guys,

I've been looking to buy some Cherry Profile Keycaps but haven't found where to buy them.

I checked into the list provided on the sticky post and the only one i found was this one:
http://www.geekkeys.com/orange-black-printed-thick-pbt-61-keyset/

But i don't like the colors, besides am looking for a blank keyset.

Anyone can recommend a site where i can get those?

Also how do they compare against DSA keycaps in terms or ergonomics? I really like the look of them (am looking for a low profile keycap, i have a Poker III)

Thanks!

Check out any GMK or BSP sets. Those are Cherry profile. There's got to be a scheme from them you'd like!

A fair amount of keysets on that site are Cherry profile blanks:

http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-black-blank-thick-pbt-full-keyset/
http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-green-blank-thick-pbt-full-keyset/
http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-red-blank-thick-pbt-108-keyset/
http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-white-blank-thick-pbt-full-keyset/
EDIT this one too: http://www.geekkeys.com/geekkeys-rainbow-blank-thick-pbt-full-keyset/

Also check out Signature Plastics'/Pimp My Keyboard's DCS keycaps.  They're almost exactly like Cherry profile but the bottom rows are a little more angled/sculpted than actual Cherry profile.  Unfortunately they'll also be thin keycaps.

There's also the Leopold sets sold by widebasket on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PBT-Keycap-Set-for-Cherry-MX-based-Leopold-Keyboard-Blank-Non-Printed-Navy-/281664522419

He has a few variations, so check them out.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

One more option to wait for Massdrop to do another drop of Vortex PBT keycaps. They've been offered in Cherry profile before (it varies though), the price is pretty good and I'd say the quality is great.

I thought it was OEM profile. No?

They've offered them in both Cherry and OEM. In some drops the Cherry version hasn't been available though. Picked up a Cherry profile set myself one time and have nothing but good things to say about it. They're not very tight on the stems but still stay on just fine, with clears that seems like a big plus.

How about JTK?
CtrlAlt introduced JTK to GH and has run JTK's first GB.
AFAIK, CtrlAlt are preparing JTK's next GB soon.

If what you want are strictly blanks Gateron, or BSP are the only way to go. There is no GMK blank sets, as far as I know.

I would definitely recommend them.  I got some cherry profile, side-printed caps and they are of really great quality for the price.

For cheap options, check out Gateron and vortex keycaps. Their quality is nice comparing to their price.
