Pepsi Mango
« on: Wed, 15 February 2023, 16:35:50 »
Surprisingly little fan fair,  but very good, it's more like fruity caramel than mango , but quite good.

must be drank very cold though otherwise it's not as sour as regular pepsi, so the sweetness is a bit too much.

Surprised you just found out about this - so far has been one of my favorite flasvor mash-ups Pepsi has done (started enjoying it nearly a year ago).

1tbsp Pickle Juice + pepsi sugar + ramen.

taste test:

honestly, not bad, it adds a slightly savory saltiness, doesn't change the sour much, pepsi is already sour.

yea. this works.  the ramen adds a crunchi cereal feel, a bit too greasy for this mix. cherrios or something might work better.

When I am thirsty, I want at least half a liter of water.
Soft drinks just make me thirsty, and artificial sweeteners leave me with bad taste and mouth feel.

That's because the copious amounts of sugar in soda legitimately dehydrates you. I recently quit soda/am getting over a caffeine addiction and after replacing it with water I definitely notice I'm more hydrated (Hands don't get dry as fast, skin is more elastic, etc etc)

I had a friend in high school who actually liked drinking chocolate milk and pickle juice together.

Dr Pepper has only around 27 (And I had 4 of those every day) so I'd say that's a lot yeah.

That's quite alot CAZ,    if it weren't for this extremely stressful game of vampire survivors, Tp4 would normally drink at most half can to 1 can of soda per day.

Like I said, I had a massive problem, but I've thankfully kicked it. 1 week clean of any caffeine as of tomorrow. Would've been 12 days but I cracked five days in initially.

Did find Pepsi Max Mango, and am trying it now. I think all Pepsi over here has artificial sweetener in it though.
Surprisingly, I think the mango flavour works well together with the regular Pepsi taste. But the aftertaste of artificial sweetener isn't nice.

I feel like we can just add cucumber to sprite and that's probably what this is.

pickle juice + pepsi really wasn't bad, but admittedly that's not exactly cucumber flavor

ok real talk.

has anyone ever made sweet pickles in either pepsi or mountain dew ?

i mean why not, it's just a sweet lemon-y flavor, that's basically what many pickle brine recipes are...

Thoughts ?

Aspartame. We don't have high fructose corn syrup. (I think we don't ...)

Sweet pickles? I prefer savoury dill pickles anyway. Not too common in stores (for some reason), so I make my own. Dill flower (not the tiny leaves) and gherkins are in season the same time in summer.
First, I slice the pickles and put them in salt-brine overnight. Then I jar them will dill flower and top off with regular white winegar/sugar brine.

Aluminum is probably the easiest and most valuable material to recycle.

It is worth about $0.25 per pound, as I recall.

pretty sure that's only cost effective in cleaning up cities, if tp4 had to drive out the cans to the recycling center, there's no way that'd even cover the gas.

Over here in Sweden (and most of Europe, I'd think), there's a recycling machine in every medium-sized supermarket, so recycling them isn't as much of a chore, I'd think.

When I was in my early 20s, I kept a small collection of unusual soda cans for a few years. When I went to recycle them, the total I got out of the machine was ... 0.
I found out that the machine had looked at the bar code on the side of each can, didn't recognise them because the codes were "too old" at that point ... but was happy to take them from me anyway! ...

is there any useful craft ideas for aluminum cans, it's becoming quite a mountain pile.
I've seen a LotR Witch King gauntlet made from soda cans.

Yeah here in the states grocery stores usually have can returns in them. Some can be picky about what they take, but liquor stores have them as well. Not just cans either they also take plastic bottles and glass bottles.

having drank so much pepsi lately,  tp4 can understand now why caffeine is used in diet pills.

tp4 has eaten significantly less actual food in the past weeks, not an issue of hunger, but pretty much all the time tp4 just wants to drink more pepsi, this stuff is quite clearly highly addicting.

this is probably why also diet pills don't work long term,  once tolerance builds and someone begins to experience very steep dopa dips, it would probably cause them to have unreasonably strong appetite, the reverse of the initial effects.

MountainDew - MAJOR MELON

Tastes like watermelon candy, it's less tangy than something like warheads/sourpatch watermelon, but similarly scented.

honestly closer to an Apple scent than watermelon.

Pink liquid, 44g sugar, 55mg caffeine. (per 12oz can)

Undrinkable warm (too sweet), must be ice cold.

Not a big fan of all these MD test flavors except Typhoon. It's actually pretty good, like a strawberry daiquiri.

The Pepsi Mango was surprisingly tasty. I thought it would taste like Pepsi, but it's more mangoey.
