Wow the prices of the extra kits are so high compared to R1.

Welcome to having an additional middleman in the group buy process. No quantity tier decreases either for anything outside the base kit will certainly make this more expensive than it would be through PMK.

Update: Pending sale/trade, PM if you like to be backup.

I'm looking Pro Modifiers Text/Icon - 1 unit keycap for: Tab, Backspace, and FN. They are for my Goldtouch number keypad.

PM if you have these extras. Also can trade you Enter (blue) + Esc (red) Icon.  I'm in US-CA.

Thank you!

I can totally do this swap with you> I have the Icon pro modifiers if you do not mind them instead of the Text ones

Unfortunate that this set does not pass on the savings of the huge volumes that have been sold. The nature of the MD system is its lack of pricing tiers. Especially as this is one of the only few high volume sets of the year, hope a deal can be worked out to bring the price more in line with the volume of production. Happy for matt3o to do well from this, just want to see the price lower to help bring in more sale. At this stage I am not in :(

we weren't expecting such a response, the prices for the extra kits were set on lower numbers. Now that we have a better figure I'm very confident that MD will add more tiers (but please note that I have no control over that). The price of the base kit is the same if not lower than R1, so please don't start this "middle man" non-sense. PMK IS NOT the lowest price the keycaps could be because it's a service that SP pays (hosting, development, logistics, customer support, ...).

For me the pricing is more than OK, I'm happy that R2 is for real and I'm planning to buy big time, I want to cover at least 2 boards. I will be broke after that but I will be rich in so many other ways :D

JD40 and Filco minila mainly. But also good for custom keyboards.

So the speciality kit and the common kit is enough to fill a JD40?

I think you need a modifier kit also for the bottom row.

Just noticed there is no blank ergo kit - is there any way to get additional blank 2u keys?

SP doesn't have any matching GDE blanks - but my TECH uses 4-6x 2u keys that I need to fill in. (shift, space, ctrl,fn,"-_","\|" are all 2u on my layout).

I can understand that the pricing tiers are based on early estimates on volumes. Lets hope MD can make the numbers work for another tier price.

If you want blank ergodox kit then just order some color combination that you like from SP. Its the same material and profile. And it will be cheaper at the end of the day,  because you wont buy tons of keys that you dont need.

SP don't have that colour grey (GDE) available as blanks - which is the problem.

Ouch, effectively $8.25 per 2u key after shipping, but still cheapest option.

Cheers :)

Yes, go to transactions page and choose "edit order", then you can add or delete what you need.

Has anyone some experiences with MD about "requesting" to state a smaller value of the goods on the shipments label?  I wish to cut out the customs and taxes. I will delete this post later. PM me please If you tried it or know the answer. Thanks!

From the pictures it looks like the common kit comes with  grey 6.25u space bar. But you want a 7u or a blue 6.25u you need to add them on separately right?

Are you adding more spacebar because you need a spare one or do you need the other sized once?

Actually, I got confused and forgot that I got a spacebar in Round 1.  :-\

However, I added a 7x and an extra 6.25x since I'm not purchased the Common kit in this round.

the blue spacebar is 6 units! (not 6.25) and it's ABS (not PBT).

I have purchased an ISO set and will only be using one of them so you're welcome to the other. I'm thinking I'll use the icon one so do you want the text enter key?
