I just wanted to confirm a fact for  anyone else in the same boat:

I own a Rosewill RK-9000, and I received Filco replacement keys from EliteKeyboards.com to test on it.  They work perfectly.  Same exact height and contour.  Anyone else with this keyboard should be happy to note that these custom keys that WhiteRice has arranged should work 100% perfectly as well.

No problem. Wish it was easier. Very easy with Gift payment in the US.

Also, for privacy reasons, I edited WhiteRice's name/email to a Hollywood psuedonym with Firebug before screenshotting. That is not actually Whiterice's email below, do not send it money.

As you can see, I sent $104, but was billed $107.32 (the fees). That means WhiteRice didn't have to absorb them.

Appreciated. I neglected to check and just assumed they would fit. Thankfully, my assumption was right.

Still... :tsk:

I'll visit WhiteRice and heckle him personally, I have his address.

(He's after me on the Topre keychain world trip, so this is actually true since I need to mail it to him - I have it. He needn't fear unwanted guests though; I'm too apathetic.)

Welp. Time for a road trip to make sure that WhiteRice follows through. I can make it in a couple hours.

Ya know, because $3000 (assuming a few people do orders of more than $49 + $5 shipping) is so much money.

I answered all pms and I'm extending the order deadline to Sunday. Signature won't be open till Monday so I figured why not :)

We have reached 78% of payments which means I will be ordering next week! Signature estimates a two week production time!

I think that ripster meant he already has one. If not yes the blue hand is not part of this set.

Is there any significance to the blue hand?

£60.41 with VAT shipped to the Netherlands (£40 for the keyboard + £11.41 for the cheapest shipping to NL + £9.00 VAT @ 17.5%. [strike]And aren't there customs charges on top of that?[/strike] Apparently not among EU member states as this is the purpose of VAT), which is $96.59 in US dollars for a board with transposition errors (ripster will tell us how he doesn't have them), versus $49 for a set of double shot keys in a small custom run.

Apples and oranges.

To be fair, it's $72 shipped for the keycaps ($49 + $9 for international booster + $14 international shipping) to the Netherlands, but seriously - a faulty simplified ALPS board versus a limited run set of well made keycaps are two very different things.

Also, the Filco Zero Tenkeyless was discontinued (and is listed as such by Elitekeyboards' item page). It's a clearance item. That's not to say it may not be a decent deal, but it's hardly a regular price.

Quote from: itlnstln;160959
You're probably going to have to buy one from another member.  There was an aspect to the logic in the Filco Zeros that was unacceptable to many people, so the product was discontinued.  According to Diatec, they had to implement a slower scan rate to properly debounce the Fukka switches; therefore, if you type very quickly, you could run into some transposition errors.  Again, this would only occur if you could something like 150WPM, or on short bursts of typing like "the" for a lot of people.  The first person to notice it couldn't type the work "note" without it sending "ntoe."  YMMV, though.

Actually to be fair the Filco Zero was only cleared from EliteKeyboards, probably due to a certain member and their posts on this board. Other retailers still carry it. The XM (older model, non Fukkas) version also is not faulty at all and has no controller issues.

But yes the bottom line is that these keycaps are something special and a cool novelty item. If you do not think its worth it, simply don't buy a set. Easy as that.

Regarding the spacebar.. if our version only is made to fit on a Filco, it will not fit on a Cherry board such as the G80-3000/1000/1800 series, since those have the stems in a different position. Chance is that the guys from OTD already thought of this and designed the spacebar to work on both boards. So if SP uses the same molds for our order that they used for their order, it might fit. We will have to wait and see.
