better .... efficient

There is no doubt that the most efficient form of governance is complete totalitarianism.

Discussion and persuasion require considerable time, and invariably muddy the results.

provide that feedback

I have always preferred tactile or clicky switches. I can touch type although I don't always do it, but I still depend on feedback.

I've always been a fan of 40k from since 3rd edition, but never had the steady hand and time to build, glue and paint an army.

I play most of the 'modern' games though - does that count?

This post is coming to you courtesy of a Monsgeek M5, Glorious Forge Fox switches, with ducky pudding caps :)

Excuse the dust - I've found this thing is impossible to keep dust-free

I admire those who can touch type - I'm a very heavy typer, and I hammer those keys especially when I'm working - I think subconsciously I feel like the key won't register until I feel it bottom out.

I wonder if using browns would help provide that feedback to stop for someone who's trying to push more into touch typing? :)

Any suspect on the MCU?

I would map out the matrix to find the columns and rows connection to the MCU. Confirm the matrix from the MCU pins with multimeter. If it works fine maybe the space row and column trace are broken

Ergonomics / Affordable Split Keyboard
« Last post by snott on Thu, 23 May 2024, 05:00:11 »
I am using a Kinesis Freestyle for 10 years and now it must be replaced. I replaced the mylar sheets inside more than once, but the springs or whatever are starting to go and it seems the keyboard is just too old.

I would like to buy a Kinesis Advantage, but I can't afford it. :(

So I researched a bit and found that many people like the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard. It's well under $100 and looks decent. I detest Microsoft also and I use Linux, but if the keyboard will work, so I'm willing to try. :)

I realize that the clicking will not be as nice as my Freestyle, but after examining my use, I think that I "bottom out" a lot anyway so that's not a real problem. I think I just need the ergo layout and even though I keep my Freestyle haves a bit farther apart than the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard has theirs, I am guessing I can get used to that. I am trying to put my closer together and it's slightly less comfortable, but that could also be just due to habit.

Also I have no wrist rest my on Freestyle, so anyhow overall, I think the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard will work for me.

Any ideas/feedback before I buy one?

Can you add a Hangul-sublegend child kit? KKB has the molds, they're pretty cheap to add onto (like $20-$30), and many people would want them for their GMK Dolch sets, as well as this set that I'm looking forward to.
