Almost everyone I currently work with is around half my age. I feel like the token middle aged guy, I simply can't compete with those fresh faces and optimistic energy.
My plan is to slowly corrupt them all into depressed sarcastic cave goblins.

Or he need to learn to enjoy doing nothing. There is a distinct satisfaction in spending a day or afternoon just being a useless blob after busting your ass all week.

Were they the Asian Tiger Mosquito? Striped body, active in daytime, smaller but more aggressive? Native mosquitos are mostly nocturnal.
Invasive species got here in the 1970s-1980s, as I recall, and have been working their way north.
