Thanks guys.
I found out the non-https links didnt work (except in chrome), and I needed an additional block in nginx, so SSL should be 100% active now, and all non-https links will be redirected.

Still working on some more updates too!

Yessir, rails 4.

From scratch or based on spree?

I built the whole thing from scratch, I have a big update that will go out today too finally! :D

I've used spree in the past for other projects and ended up switching to Shopify.

Would you care to share the code? I would love to learn a thing or two from your implementation to improve Spree.

That is awesome! IIRC the reason i switched to shopify from spree is because my client had items with over 30+ variants and I couldn't figure out to extend the clone feature to include the items variants/prices. This was probably over a year ago so I was real noob. Spree even shared a repo with me to get me on track.

I wouldn't mind sharing the code, PM me your github account!

Looks good! Once suggestion I would make is putting some nice photos of each completed set in the archives.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Small bug report:

When visiting ctrlaltgroupbuy.com just now, Active Group Buys shows GEEKHACK PACK, GEEKHACK 60%, Penumbra (Solarized). If you click "Buys", RainDrop R2 shows up in addition to those. I believe this is a bug, as RainDrop R2 is active and show appear in either case.

Also, "Active Group Buys" changes to "Active group buys", which isn't really a bug, but it should be possible to use the same partial in both views :).

Hey bunny - on the site it still shows my GH order as invoiced and not paid even though I paid the day I got the invoice.  Is this just a bug or did my payment not process correctly?

I believe Bunny has said that he uses this status for his own bookkeeping, and that it doesn't always reflect whether you've actually paid or not.

Bunny, if that's true, maybe you should consider changing the FAQ? It currently says that your status will change to Paid within 24 hours of paying.

Edit: Or, a better solution would be to ask Cody to implement arbitrary tags on orders that only admin can see and manage :).

Yeah i recently updated the homepage to show the first 3 active group buys, while the active page will list them all.
The different titles a are generated by translations and I'll also make them match.

We MANUALLY chug your order along after we review it. So if you pay quickly we probably have not confirmed it yet and will shortly.
I'm currently integrating PayPal so this process will become more automated in realtime and you'll have the ability to pay anytime before the gb ends.

Oh and yeah we really need to get on the FAQ! :P

Thanks for the bug reports guys!

Maybe a "and 1 other Group Buy…" button or something can appear on the front page if it's omitting them. I might go to the front page now and assume that the Penumbra extras are sold out, for instance, even though they're still (probably) available if I click on Buys.

I am hoping this is the right place for suggestion for the site.  Either way is there any chance we an get an option to stay logged in permanently?  I only buy stuff online from my desktop.  So it does get a tad annoying having to log back in every time I open my browser.

I think it has to do with your cookie settings and permissions on your browser.  In my Chrome browser, I'm always logged in when I check that site.

Just thought I would let you know.

I thought I had that problem as well, but it seemed like the mobile version had a case sensitive email login ID (most phone keyboards auto capitalize the first letter.)

I just tested it now, and the login failed when I had a capital letter on the first letter of my email, but logged in successfully when all lower case.

This is a minor gripe, but when I click on "help" on the website, there is no contact information ):

While I could just post on Geekhack or PM someone about any questions I have, people who don't really know much about Geekhack or don't know anything about it at all may have trouble getting assistance (unless I'm missing some part of the site that has contact information).

Hey minho, thanks for addressing this. This page hasn't been enabled yet but I'm actually working on it right now though and plan on enabling it tonight along with the faqs.
It will feature a contact form to email us directly.

Oh no - another excuse to spend money I don't have :-\
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
