BRONATIONS
« on: Wed, 08 April 2015, 19:00:19 »
hey guys

sorry i have been really really busy, ive had my wifes bday and baby scans and easter and real life stuff

firstly

id like to take a moment to thank everyone again who helped bro caps out recently, he is hugely appreciative and im sure will have an appropriate gif of nicholas cage to express his feelings ready to post soon

i havent forgotten about the extras to sort you guys out with, we have physical dibs tickets being made, stickers and ive had some keychains made up to say thanks

ill be posting a list of stuff up soon, most likely this weekend at this point, i just wanted to make this thread to say thanks once again, and let everyone know it hasnt been forgotten, but because of the overwhelming support, wanted to do something a bit more special to express my gratitude

cheers

bunny

Nobody did it for schwag. We did it for love. For love.

We gotta hold on to what we've got. It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not. We've got each other, and that's a lot. For love, we'll give it a shot.

Edit: forgot to say my amount was tiny by comparison anyway. Just all I could do at the time.
I'm back.

Such an insanely busy city. Went there in 2010 but I bailed out and went to Cambodia the next day, the pollution was absolutely killing my lungs.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

tbh I'm just happy I could help... I didn't do it because I thought I might get something out of it, I just wanted to help support a guy who geniunily(yeah i can't spell and what) puts work into this retarded niche community.
It also happened to co-inside with me finally having some money haha and while I'm gutted I couldn't afford to get the rekt cap and bundle I'm still happy that the money I was happy to throw at that was still able to make its way to bro so he can continue his really ballin work.

Neat. The physical dibs ticket will be really cool. Excited to see what amazing design you have in store for us Bunz :D.

Now, what if I want to use my 1 dibs ticket for a sale where I want more than one BroCap? So, I want one guaranteed, but I want to enter for others. What's the process there? PM you? Submit two orders? Or should I just wait until I get the dibs ticket and everything will make sense?

And we can use the dibs ticket for any future sale (so I could even wait for a purple V3 if I was so inclined)?

(EDIT: Thanks for finding the time to do this Bunz! And hope everything has picked up for you Bro!)

Instant collector's items!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I didn't even realize this happened. I kept putting off donations to budget better, but congrats to all who won their dibs and these super sweet tickets!

And yea, a badge or something like that I'd be in for buying

Is this about some special donation, or also when purchasing the sets? If its the latter, please put me on the list as well (I've donated for either Hack'd or Hyperfuse, I'm not sure anymore, and would probably donate again if something pretty would come up) :thumb:

This was a special scenario that happened about 2 months ago.  There was an auction to raise money for legal fees, and a few people wanted to donate to help out.  I can't speak for Bunny, or Bro, but I assume this was a one time thing.

Thank you, then scratch my comment. Legal fees are no joke, good luck with that @ CTRL HQ. (By the way, use the power of your mailing list to reach a wider audience, although I could see why you wouldn't in this case).

this actually wasnt to do with ctrl alt, it was for bro caps, hence the term bronations, i just decided to put together some packages for people who wanted to help out a friend of mine

unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

Im definitely excited for that! When I first joined GH and didn't really know how things worked here I read a post about the ctrlalt store going live soon and there being a keyset I wanted for sale on it(I can't remember the exact details) I took it to mean like a couple hours or days at most. I spent the next week refreshing the ctrl alt site   :)) I finally figured I should ask someone about it and was told its a pretty big ongoing project and that it probably wouldn't be for awhile! good times

Needless to say I can't wait to see whats available and how you folks go about it. With your experience with Bro Caps,SP/GMK GB's and multiple keyboards projects not to mention resources with other sites, Assemblers,Artisans and Korean connections etc on top of your fingers being directly on the pulse of GH I would think ctrlalt is in a very unique position. Lots of blood sweat and tears coming to fruition! This is going to be good

Just curious, has anyone received there dibs ticket package yet?
I'm assuming Bunny had these to hand and postage within the UK isn't normally weeks (it's only a small island) so I'm a little concerned mine's gotten lost in the post or something, but if I'm not the only one then I'd be less worried, if that makes sense haha

sorry its my bad

what happened is this

when i packed them all up and sealed them

i had forgotten to note down all the dibs tickets (as in whose number was whose in my spreadsheet and stuff)

so i had to unpack them all and start frlom frsh

between this time we had the 2 gbs finishing so i was a bit slack on getting it redone

having been so very frustrated with myself for doing all the labels and sealing all the packaging and having to start again

Yes.

You can check your ticket, or check your email (but it may be too late to pay the invoice by now anyway)

Yes. Emails and invoices already went out.

If you feel there was a mistake, log into your account on ctrlalt.io and check your ticket. If you won, it should say "winner" and if you lost it'll say "submitted"
