[IC] GMK Muted

Hey everyone,

Had this cool idea for a Muted set with small accents and was wondering if there's any interest for it. MoQ would be 150. I know it's not really "muted" BTW.

As far as the kit goes, there are two ways this could go.  I was thinking either one universal pack (like Soware), or maybe a mute base pack + add on pack.

Anyways, let me know what you think! I appreciate any and all feedback. I was thinking this could be a very good new base set that people can build upon.

Bottom two kits are OPTIONAL. You start with the MUTED set, and choose 9009 addon (minimized for $ optimization) or the CUSTOM C/P set.

I love this. Similar to what made 9009 so nice. Simple base colors with a splash of muted color in just the right places. I like the look of an entire plain base set with optional color addons so that you can mix things up as desired.

I was actually thinking that exact same thing. A pastel (or muted/saturated) cmyk add on kit with the purple add on.

I think the kit would be made differently than the normal cmyk kit (like key to color correspondence).

Is this cream on beige?  Or cream on gray?  The renders show mostly gray, the 2D mockup shows beige for the mods.

If it's the classic cream/beige with a few accent colors, personally I'd rather use the original Cherry beige doubleshots and buy the accent pack made by GMK alone.

Yup interested, specially like the icon mods. Why not diamonds instead of windows key? More "subdued." Also would be cool to explore icon-only keys for insert, home, pgup, etc. I think I saw in another thread that GMK has molds for those.

Oh my gosh yes! I love those powdery accent colors as well!

I was literally so close to buying modern beige put caps today from originative, but my gut was telling me to wait.

So glad I did!

Only thing I would add is an alpha matching space bar.

I would buy the whole set myself!

Have to agree with you on this.  It doesn't make sense to run a GB for a keyset many people own in one shape or another.  It would be more successful if unique mods were done separately as a small pack.

I am really not a fan of the front printed legends.
I think it would be best to seperate this into 3 kits like kekkon is doing with his Dolch GB so people can get mods without buying the whole set -- the kits being alphas, modifiers/alternate layouts, and color accents.
Please use the simple left arrow for the hhkb backspace too -- The other one just looks so tacky to me.

Other than those suggestions, I really like this set!

I looked at the colors before, but cherry beige is a more yellow. This is more like grey and light grey with black (cr)  legends.

I definitely see your point, but the colors are different and are most definitely grey. I'll have pantones for them soon. Definitely not classic beige though (that's like yellow esk)

Ah yes. My argument is that, it helps price optimize and help  bring a set to EU buyers. I find it a compromise that doesn't hurt. People always ask, why do I have to buy UK iso, and then UK iso always ask, why isn't there this key, etc. I find this as an in between.

Looks like many people want to add some stuff like row 5 and some messaged me about stepped control and r3 control. So we may add those to the base set.

That's a great concept. I am always looking for alternative modifier sets to combine with "classic beige" doubleshots. I know this is a veeeeery difficult decision but I would really appreciate if you were selling the modifiers in a separate kit from the "custom grey" alphanumerics.

Hi all,

Just updated the kit.

Major things:

1. Removed pad printed side uk-iso
2. Added LED keys
3. Made it into 3 kits (Base, Custom CP kit, 9009 Minimal Kit).
4. Optimized the kits a little more.
5. Classic Windows 95 Logo (pad printed, yes, but I actually use OS X)
6. MoQ's won't super matter.
7. Arrow 1.5U backspace, not block X arrow.
