will you ever run a GB for blank rich black (or even darker if possible)?

sorry if this has been asked before, but i REALLY want it. I'm still sticking to this GB, but if you are definitely either GOING TO or NOT going to do a GB for rich black, I want to make a mental note of it.

Only need to resubmit if you are interested in the other options that have been added.

I can only make it so dark and still have printing, but it will be as dark as can be with the printing still at least vaguely visible. I am not sure there is enough interest to make MOQ with blank only... this would be very hard I think. As of now the total order is still about half blank half printed. I think this is one of those instances where small compromises need to be made to get anything into production at all.

You want blank, you will have it. All I am saying, is we can't have it too dark black, because then printing is impossible. Without printed set, nothing get made because blank only not enough orders to carry the buy into moq.

Production time, probably something like 6-8 week.
For sideprinting, it sound like they are not ready for this yet. Perhaps they will be ready for next time and we can also do set like these:

Playing devil's advocate (I like the RF charcoal regardless), I can't imagine printing would be "impossible", would it? The machines physically don't work if the keys are too dark? The printing might be incredibly difficult to see, but the odds of the printing being the exact same black seems truly "impossible", at least to a layman like me. And surely dye-sub causes some degree of marking, however faint.

I get that you're not manufacturing them yourself so you're at the whim of the keymaker's statements, whatever they say ultimately is what is available.

As I think you understand, with dye sublimation you cannot produce colors lighter than the surface on which you're printing. If you have an extremely dark keycap, then you can't really print any darker to have any sort of defining contrast between the keycaps and the lettering. This would make lettering almost invisible, and most people who want lettering want their lettering to be visible, so we probably wouldn't be able to reach MOQ even with an option for lettering.

These caps are PBT, not plum fyi. I don't know about the thickness question, though.

PLUM is just same thick like the Cherry one imsto and I have before. That photo is of original vintage Cherry ones from around 1986.

Ah, ok. I just assumed they were the actual ones in the GB you did on DT.

PLUM does make POM too. Maybe we can try to do a groupbuy for that again sometime... it had a pretty low price I am not sure why it didn't go very far. POM is very nice too.

I would get a POM set if they were cherry profile, had legends, and didn't have the win8 logo (or a option to get blank win keys).

I haven't touch them myself yet, but judge from photo texture will be more on finer side like other Cherry profile PBTs.

6-7 weeks is pretty standard because you have to deal with manufacturing, shipping from China -> USA for Ivan to divvy up, and then sending them out from there (~~unless you're lucky like some of the last PBT orders and are located in Asia, IMSTO might send directly to you~~) lies this is plum

My production time is more a rough estimate. First the keys need to be made as this color is not something they will have standing stock on which will need to be fit into their production schedule. After that the sets that need printing need to go to another party for dyesub... then transit time.

You can see the keys we will be getting on white Choc mini, Plum 96 or Neo Zelia photo.
