I have discussed this with Unicomp, and they now have the tooling to make Red on white/pebble sets in their standard font. To order, I suggest filling out this form: http://support.pckeyboard.com/index.php?a=add with priority level high, and request a full custom set of buttons such that all 1x keys are BRILLIANT WHITE with RED LEGENDS, and the modifiers are either pebble or gray (your choice!) with RED LEGENDS.
In addition, you can add an RGB kit to this order for a Red Alert set with RGB modifiers.
Keep in mind that you need to let them know explicitly what size of spacebar and bottom row modifiers you need.
The price of this set should be the same as any other custom button set they sell.

edit: these are dye sublimated keys, similar to the limited run geekhack.org function row sets.

I think I might go for this. My Model M came missing some keys so I might just order a red set rather than a new original set.

The "classic" Model M does not have Windows keys. The "modern" sets have 2 Windows keys and that other "windows-like"key which makes for a shorter spacebar.

I tried to get custom purple on white caps. They said that they didn't have the ability to make purple caps anymore :(

My biggest disappointment is that they do not make a pebble spacebar. I have a gray one that I plan to use, but I may get a bright white one later.

It cost $30 + shipping, which surprised me (low). That is what a standard Model M set of keys costs.
I will be utterly delighted if they are dye-sub, but I would bet money that they are going to be pad-printed.

these are dye subbed. they do not pad print because of the lack of durability.

shipping should be at the very most, 24$ to anywhere in the world, as a full set will fit in a small FRB. i generally ask them to ship via USPS and refund me the difference when i order from them. their cart software seems to only work with UPS ground, but they're very capable of shipping via USPS.

Ignored my old IBM's for far too long, now's the time to start re-filling them with some RED goodness. Just wish they would also provide British Racing Green with their colour choices.
Also Ultramarine Blue would be nice........

If they use their standard bright white caps, they should be 2-piece for everything that uses only one barrel.

probably inks. they didn't set themselves up to do arbitrary graphics, as it's quite difficult to get accurate color out of CMYK printed substrate, and they mostly run black and gray. i know they have red, but i have no idea what other colors they run, and the quality of dyesub inks that they use are pretty expensive, especially since you need to buy in a fair amount of bulk.

What? No, that is the natural color "pearl" like all Model M spacebars. They are PBT and do not discolor like ABS (unless it is a later one from Greenock, after they switched to ABS).
I wanted a "pebble" spacebar to match the modifiers. The other logical option would be a bright white spacebar, which I almost ordered, but decided against it. I tried it with my light gray bar, but it was awful. Pebble is a very "warm" gray, while the gray they sell is very "cool" almost blue-ish.

yeah, but red / white are the colours of the Louisville Cardinals, a big rival of Kentucky.
You'd think they'd want to do Blue / white first.

Do these happen to come with the barrel inserts/sleeves/stabilizers (whichever the proper term is)? Are customizations possible, such as Ctrl instead of Caps Lock, Fn instead of windows on the 1x, or front printed F1-12 on the number row, etc?

Is Unicomp now producing a 101-sized brilliant white space bar? I wasn't able to get one with a custom brilliant white/gray 103 key keyboard I ordered a few months ago.
It's great to see they have the alternate font colors available for general ordering now.

Any chance for a picture of the Red on Pebble and Blue on Grey keycap? Or if possible a picture showing the differences between Grey/Pebble
Also just making sure, the same color combination as the Model M (which I call Biege/Gray) in Unicomp language is Pearl/Pebble right?
Now if you guys just make a Black on Yellow full set, my life would be complete!

Pebble/Pearl is the original IBM Model M color scheme. The Unicomp pebble modifiers are a slightly different color than the ones on the Model F, however.

When I bought the red alert set in post #25, I did not realize that other colors were available.
I put them on the keybaord and took a picture, but I literally never even plugged it in, so the caps have literally 0 seconds of use.
I will sell the set for $36 shipped domestic US (about $10 less than Unicomp's price) and the spacebar is not part of the set.

Yes, I want to know the answer to this one. I never bought one of their RGB sets with the black on colored modifiers, since I didn't like the way they looked so out of place. But subtle RGB fonts on pebble mods? Mmmm... Yes, please, I'll take five sets of those!
We should put in special requests for this, and maybe they'll start offering it as a standard package.

Yes, you can use my photo if you want. Or, why not buy mine and save? I just put them on and didn't ever use them. What I really want is a green set and I did not know that anything but red was available when I bought them. Also, I will do international for $10 more, far cheaper than Unicomp.
Also, I specifically asked for a pebble Backslash/Pipe because I think it looks better that way. I have tried a pebble tilde but it just looks "off" somehow.

Agreed. That would be a great option to compliment the default pearl/pebble keys.
Pebble Alts with green text are common. I have one pebble Ctrl with red text. And some special purpose keycaps with blue text. So all of these text colors have been available in the past.

Couldn't you get a set of ANSI colored pebble/pearl caps and use your existing ISO specific black caps where needed? If I remember right, there should only be enter, shift(s) and one or two extra 1x keys that don't match. I'd think the 1x keys would look a little strange, but it wouldn't be terrible.

Mmm, could do. I think I will just buy some replacements for my missing ones from clicky keyboards for the moment and maybe get coloured alphas at some point.

They have pre-announced one, which is supposed to be out at the end of the year. It will be smaller than the IBM SSK. Layout looks funky IMO, but it's nice to see Unicomp doing something new, and a lot of people like tiny keyboards.
